Yeah, 69 as well, and also died from cancer.

He had a lot of marvelous roles, but I think my favorite was in Anthony Minghella's Truly Madly Deeply.

The last order I put in included Tokyo Story (this on December 20th). I don't mind waiting longer so long as I know I'll get the DigiBook copy eventually. But if I might not get it, I need to cancel the order, and find it elsewhere, albeit at a much higher price. Criterion's store still has it, but it's $32 there plus shipping. Amazon is temporarily out of stock on it, too. They list it as $29.48. Are we sure that Best Buy and/or Amazon will get this in, or is it possible Criterion is no longer shipping this movie out? I can't believe they'd go more than two months with the film out of stock.

Can anybody give me a suggestion on how to proceed with this? My luck, I'll wait, and the Digi will go OOP on me.

Definitely me. Very late to the living directors discussion but Carax would be in my top 5. Not as prolific as many others but also not a single bad film in his oeuvre. Holy Motors being the most recent is a fantastic film. I know there is a lot of love for Mauvais Sang on this thread.

I don't have experience with Criterion movies from Best Buy, but I have found that BB and Target are quick to cancel/modify orders. It seems like they have more glitches in their inventory than Amazon.

If they are showing them as out of stock/backordered, then I would be inclined to think what they get in will be the new BR replacements and not dual format.
