My favorite release is the Kennedy set. It looks stacked. Weird month, but I am not complaining.

A bit of a weak month in terms of output. Only 4 new titles, no new upgrade, just a standalone from an existing box set, and a new box set with existing releases (plus Barcelona).

I'll only be purchasing Brief Encounter and Phoenix.

I'll watch Barcelona and Only Angels Have Wings on Amazon Instant Video and pray that I can find the Robert Drew films online.

We can at least chalk up the mystery behind the playing card with the JFK button now

I think the Phoenix cover is pretty stunning. However, I watched the film the other day and while I liked it, I didn't find it nearly as impactful as I expected. Love the ending though.

I already have BRIEF ENCOUNTER in the Lean blu-ray box set and ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS via TCM (though, I'll likely swap that for this). No must-haves for me this month, otherwise. My wallet is thankful.

I'm really shocked they announced today.
So does this mean there's still a holdup with Boyhood?

I have the David Lean box set as well, and the other titles don't grab me, so April is a pass for me.

What an incredible cover - one of Criterion's best ever IMO.

LOL. Scoff all you want, but Horns is actually a fantastic movie. Criterion-worthy? I dunno about that, but it's really good. (Before anyone says it: yes, I know Nuck's post is fake.)

But rumor has it that they'll lose the rights to Head, so it makes sense that they'd release the others -- or at least the higher profile others -- separately.

I'm surprised the Only Angels Have Wings cover wasn't done by the same artist who did Foreign Correspondent. On first glance, they looked pretty similar in style.

Only thing going for Horns was the soundtrack - the movie was garbage lol. Then again, what do you expect when a film stars Daniel Radcliffe.

Perhaps they'll offer the box separately for $5, like they're doing with the Hitchcock box.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the announcement.

Not gonna rebuy Brief Encounter (have the Lean/Coward set), but probably all in for the others

Cant really say anything bad about HP right now - the HP community is a bit sensitive atm :/

Actually some of the HP films were good, I think Daniel Radcliffe did ruin them with his poor acting, the HP series had some real talent in them! Great actors, directors, cinematographers etc

They;d have been better casting a plank of wood as Harry Potter though lol

Wow. First time I will actually say nothing for me this month. Already have the Lean set. Already have the TCM Angels have Wings which is the 4K master from Sony so Criterions won't be different.

Nothing else catches my fancy. Gives me an opportunity to catch up on other titles.
