You guys should try NOT posting predictions and hacking their pages ahead of time just once and then see if they keep their schedule.

I think Criterion continues to punish us for posting spoilers too soon.

This is the consequence as you can see.

The Revenge of Mulvaney. (possible new Star Wars parody title).

Hacking =/= refreshing the "People" page on the 15th of each month in order to see which actors/directors are added over the course of the day.

They delayed their schedule long before we were able to "hack" their pages. Thinking they're somehow punishing us because of that is silly. If they want they could always add those pages after they announce the title just like they used to do.

Someone should make a short documentary about this forum's thread and their conspiracy theories regarding "hacking" the Criterion.com website and having monthly announcements delayed by a mysterious, invisible non-existent man named "Mulvaney". The title of the film I'd call it would be: "The People vs. Mulvaney". HA HA.

Or they could just make those pages available at the same time as they refresh the title list and update the front page. It's really not rocket science.

If it was important to Criterion they could find ways to keep it hush until the official announcement.

Yeah, though each page appears to be added manually, so that's why I figured it'd be best if they put them up right after they post the films.

Although I'm alarmed a bit too about the cropping, if it's indeed the case.
[Show spoiler]Decalogue is one of my most wanted releases. I have not seen it but 10 hour long thematically (& more) connected stories is something excites me
...a lot...

But why would this be a punishment if people already know the titles?

Criterion still playing their games.
that's why I don't even bother wondering anymore.
I just wait until the news is posted.

Yeah, at the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon (which has gotta be one of the best words ever) the 15th used to be a lot of fun and it's fast become just another day.

Yeah, but you know exactly what I mean. People here are in essence "hacking" to expose private news before the company releases the official information. If I were them, I would probably delay announcements, too.

That's like saying, well people don't follow simple etiquette, so we need to change how we do things, instead of people respecting the company and letting them do what they do. That's 2016 TMZ-blogging for you. Don't blame the people doing it, blame the company for not changing how they do things because people have no respect. The "need to know" has gotten so ADD that no one can wait for even the most simple announcement without trying to spoil it first.

Again, try it next month and see what happens if you guys are so sure. I'm not saying they are, but it's much more likely that they are than actually having 1-day delays every single month.

Here's another possibility: Criterion just doesn't care as much about making announcements on the 15th anymore. It's clearly become a softer and softer deadline over the past year or so.

There doesn't have to be any nefarious reason for that. It could just be.

The August lineup was announced on May 16th. That was a Monday. They didn't announce it on the 15th since that was a Sunday. That means they announced it the earliest possible day next to the 15th they could. In other words: There was no delay.

A similar thing happened for July's announcements. They didn't announce it on Friday April 15th, but they did announce it the next closest weekday to that, Monday the 18th. The 16th, or next weekday after the 15th has historically been a more likely day for the announcements if you look back over the last year or two.

Bottom line: They're not punishing anyone. Except maybe Polaroid with Jellyfish Eyes. But that's it, no one else.

I am really losing it at this whole "hacking pages" thing. Refreshing web pages is hacking now

Also this. They've been pushing it for years. Remember the time they forgot to tell Amazon and pushed the announcements back and Amazon put them all up? blu-ray.com hacked amazon!!
