LOL, I don't know what to think with B&N anymore.
Mailed. I never get any e mail coupons.

Hope to see a Chaplin or a Lloyd for February. It's been awhile since we've heard from those guys.

Or perhaps another Wenders.

Multiple Maniacs would be nice too. Or Tampopo.

I've only ever done the marathon once but in a time of 3 hours 41 mins. It's too far for me & too much training. I like 10k & half marathon, I can do a half in 1 hour 34 mins.

This is random but they left the Criterion version of Stagecoach on Hulu.

Foreign Correspondent as well but that one reverted back to a non criterion version even though the picture has the Criterion logo.

Everything else cleared from my queue. It's damn near empty now.

I've already blown way too much money, but I was considering a couple of blind buys. What does everyone think of Bitter Rice and Three Outlaw Samurai?

Also, has anyone heard if Barnes and Noble is doing their usual 40% all blu-rays sale leading up to Christmas? If so, I need to start making a list to order into the store.

I'd rather these go to the members of our discussion group, as y'all are like family (said in a heavily Southern accent that I don't have).

Code is 77YS5BZQRFLEC.

If you claim it, please make a post that you're taking it, so there's no confusion. I'll check back later tonight to remove the code once it's been grabbed up.
Thanks. I figured no way it was still available and was surprised when it went through. Not working on Criterions is a bummer, but I have other things I wanted.

"Three Outlaw Samurai" is a badass film. I consider it among the best of the samurai genre. Haven't seen "Bitter Rice" though.

Yep, every time I watch that movie I'm like, "How the heck did they ever do that without seriously endangering cast and crew?"
But even those scenes apart, the film has a beautiful dynamic visual grammar. Love, LOVE it.

I made my second haul of this month's sale at my local Barnes & Noble store yesterday, and I didn't have any trouble at all using the current 20% emailed coupon: they had sent me the email three times, so I printed it out three times, and they scanned them at the register with absolutely no problems. I ended up getting the following three Criterions for $13.67 each:

Dr. Strangelove ...
The Executioner
Pan's Labyrinth

$39.99 each less 50% =
$19.99 each less my 10% membership discount =
$17.99 each less my 20% off coupon =
$14.39 each less my instant 5% Barnes and Noble MasterCard discount =

$13.67 each final price

When I got home and checked my mailbox, I had received another free $25.00 gift card from my Barnes & Noble Rewards MasterCard ... every time you spend $2,500 on the card, they send you a $25.00 gift card. I've just had the card for six or seven months, but I use it for everything, and it really pays off. This is my third gift card, including the one that I received just for signing up for the MasterCard in the first place.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday's releases of Dreams and Punch Drunk Love ...

I love Bitter Rice. It's beautiful and a very good film. But I love Italian film from that era, so maybe I'm biased.

The audio & video of "Last Chrysanthemum" is disappointing, but it is an interesting story.

Does it make me a bad person if I've never been a fan of Wenders?
