Can someone explain the cover of 45 Years for me?

I've seen the film and even I can't decipher the design. Is it alluding to
[Show spoiler]the accident?

Although they didn't make it for March 2017, anyone have info about these possible future titles that I believe have either been hinted at, or previously issued in need of an update, etc...

This is Spinal Tap
Midnight Cowboy
Night of the Living Dead
The Cremator
Blood for Dracula
Flesh for Frankenstein
Good, Bad, Ugly
Straw Dogs
Plague Dogs
Ghost World
Catch 22

What makes you so sure Criterion is going to release it?

Solid month. I had not heard of Canoa, but sounds like a Costa-Gavras-esque film and that's a winner to me.
Blow up is HUGE!

Titles have been announced. Being There and Blow Up are coming in March. B.T has a e
new 4K transfer which is good because the Warner blu had a lousy picture

It's been a while since there was a month where I can safely say, I'm going to pick up all of them. Great month.

Bigger news than these announcements is that a certain someone joined Twitter.

I'm surprised Criterion reused the old Being There art from the WB snapper case DVD. I assume it was originally the poster art?

Has Criterion ever done that before? I thought they created new artwork for everything.

Not that I'm complaining... It looks nice. In this case, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

(Not my pic.)

They use A LOT of original artworks :P

And I love this design

She originals don't need changing/improving and are certainly good enough for Criterion releases!

Yes, it's taken from the original poster. The Blow-up cover is also taken from the original poster art.

Gulp. Not in the same league for me.

If it weren't for filters, I probably wouldn't like Kieslowski. (ducks)

Let's hope that this is just the beginning of the great partnership between Warner and Criterion. McCabe and Blow Up were huge announements, and I didn't expect them to.release Being There.

The future looks bright

Another off that list of WB titles that went OOP last year. Promising news for the rest joining the collection

Dreams (Akira Kurosawa)
Blow Up (Michelangelo Antonioni)
The Breaking Point (Michael Curtiz)
Barcelona (Whit Stillman)
Magnificent Ambersons (Orson Welles)
The Asphalt Jungle (John Huston)
A Face in the Crowd (Elia Kazan)
Klute (Alan Pakula)
Day for Night (Francois Truffaut)
Before Sunset (Richard Linklater)
Cat People (Jacques Tourneur)
Before Sunrise (Richard Linklater)

Day for Night and the Before Trilogy have already been confirmed as future Criterion releases, and Whit Stillman has made no secret of wanting Criterion to release Barcelona so that's also likely.

I would be all for those other four.

I would love it if FREAKS came out in time for Halloween. Or GREED. More pre-codes would be super exciting. Happy to see Warner stuff coming between them and Criterion.

Aside From CAMERAPERSON, I'm so far into everything being released in 2017.

Yep, they're all great. Looks like 2017 is going to be another stellar year for catalog titles if the stuff already announced by Criterion and Warner Archive is a sign of things to come.

I had never heard of Canoa before today. It looks intriguing, to put it mildly.
