TOKYO DRIFTER is funnier and more visually inventive, a showcase for color art direction. BRANDED TO KILL is more off the wall unpredictable and downright bizarre but equally if not more fascinating as a story. Whichever of the two I've most recently seen is the one I like best at the moment.

Need to see more Suzuki. I'm still waiting for my TAISHO TRILOGY to arrive for a first-time viewing, which now has an estimated delivery date of mid-August (while I'll be out of town).

Just my experience. I have ordered other label blu-rays from them and did not have that problem, though. Only CCs.
I'm convinced at this point that employees sit around the fulfillment center watching Criterion movies in their spare time.

Just wanted to make sure all of you knew the Barnes and Noble sale has been extended to the 14th.

Last minute pickups ahoy with those $10 reward cards you all earned!

So as I was browsing B&N for a few titles to make a last sale order I noticed a lot of DVDs Ive never heard of (Havent bought a DVD in years so I dont even look at whats available lol). These are a few DVD covers that caught my eye. The actual films might be terrible but the covers make me want to find out more and hopefully find a bluray version, maybe a future CC blu.

Not sure exactly the window of time this happened during, but if you purchased $50 worth online you were sent an email confirming you would receive a $10 reward card to be mailed to you on August 9th. I made a purchase on July 17 and was a part of that promotion.

And yes, just to confirm, the Barnes and Noble site is acknowledging the extension of the sale.

As I passed Harvey Pekar park this morning on my sunrise hike I wondered where the devil is American Splendor on blu-ray?

Chloe in the Afternoon is on the itunes store with Criterion branding, and all six moral tales are on FilmStruck if I'm not mistaken so it's doubtful they actually lost the rights.

I am not a member and have been emailed to say they will email me the $10 code on the 9th.

And the bn.com splash page is now saying "Now extended! *Offer valid through 8/14/17": https://www.barnesandnoble.com/

Hmm, all I've got from B&N this morning is an e-mail saying the sale has been extended but no e-mail about any code. If I had a 10% off code I would love to make another buy.

There was a window during the recent sale that earned you the credit if you spent $50+. If you didn't buy during that window, you won't have gotten an email. And the email telling me that the email with the $10 code would be coming on the 9th arrived on the 31st, so if you didn't get an email then, I expect you didn't order in the window.

I ordered on the 1st day of the sale around like 2AM EST. So yeah, I probably didn't buy during the allotted window.

It was up on their site for about a week towards the end of July. I let people talk me out of it because the giftcards weren't going to be useful as part of the sale.

I ordered a bunch of stuff during that window, but it arrived in terrible condition so most got returned. I think I ended up with enough for 1 $10 card out of it.

I am looking to take my first step into the Fassbinder filmography. Which film is the best to start with. Right now I am leaning towards Ali or Bitter Tears.
