I have Seven Samurai pre-ordered from Amazon @ $34.99. At 50% off list price, it would be $24.49 at B&N. I don't want to cancel the Amazon order until I'm convinced that B&N will have a November sale.

Does anyone actually have confirmation?
Ah, the new replacement for the replacement cases.

Next will be the placement of the blu-ray sticker on a given film.

No, it's a bit too early for those... especially from the usual sites that get review copies. Should start seeing those around the middle-to-end of October.

The only semi-type photo is the one over at Rhino's website for their Monkees contest. It's just a photo of the outer image in the shape of a cube. You can probably expect a cube-shaped slipcase with six cardboard sleeves inside for the six discs.

Axel Music has sent me an email this evening telling me that my blu ray copy of The Seven Samurai has been completed and shipped. It's still about three weeks to the release date, can this be correct??

Yep - it's totally plausible; Axel Music shipped my copy of Kapo three weeks prior to release.

Oh wow, ballsy movie switching the Blu-ray sticker to gray like that. Since that was the only obvious difference between the DVD and Blu-ray editions, I wonder if confusion will ensue...

I believe that might just be a black and white photo. The sticker will most likely be blue still.

I'm just guessing but with the plastic the movies wrapped in, it could be one of those.

Yeah that set looks thick enough to house the Criterion style standard plastic case Don't you think? Or are my eyes deceiving me? It'd be so cool if they were all in the set in a plastic case. :-)

Fairly sure I read somewhere they will be digipack type cases for each film in that cardboard box. Probably something like the Six Moral Tales dvd box set, but blu-ray sized.

Got ya... yeah it looks like a thicker box than what I imagined... but if they did them in plastic cases I could see them doing single edition releases later on for the titles possible like the Cassavetes set.

I am sure the style like Six Moral Tales will be fine. Speaking of which I still need to watch my box set of that haha. I've owned it for over a year! Hard to watch all these sometimes.

I know a few of us are prone to finding certain Criterion titles early at Best Buy, however I was looking into Darjeeling Limited on their site and that title does NOT have Store Pickup available!

Really surprised they aren't going to stock the title. Usually it will at least say Coming Soon. It could change who knows. They don't even list The Magician at all. Seven Samurai seems to have the same fate currently!
