I think most of the posters are from films that Janus has done a theatrical run of, so they used these posters at the various theaters they screen the film.

Well, shoot.

My ballot choices were as follows. In retrospect, I made a couple of mistakes I wish I could have corrected.

Best Cover Art (Give me 1)
1. ...

oh crap, I must have forgotten to fill this one out. I should have voted on Jabberwocky.

Worst Cover Art (Give me 1)
1. 45 Years

Favorite Blind Purchase (Give me 1)
1. Straw Dogs

Best Catalog Upgrade (DVD to Blu-ray) (Give me 1)
1. Stalker

...wait, would this one count? I was thinking of the Kino Lorber DVD. If I had to fix this, I'd pick Le Samourai.

Best New Spine (Give me 3)
1. Barry Lyndon
2. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
3. The Breaking Point

Best Box Set (Give me 1)
1. Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project Volume 2

Best Release of the Year (Give me 5)
1. Stalker
2. Vampyr
3. Ugetsu
4. Barry Lyndon
5. Le Samourai

Whom do you want to see in the Criterion closet? (Give me 1 person)
Alejandro Jodorowsky (just watched Jodorowsky's Dune at the time and the guy struck me as quite the character)

I think Criterion should release a blu-ray for Trent Reznor including music videos, short films, live performances, interviews, etc.

If I am not mistaken, I believe it is OOS it is off limits. Similar to the B&N sale, but B&N sales are so long time wise that they usually get a few restocks during that time frame.

On BD in France and Japan, and there’s a German release coming on 23/2

Possible I suppose, but I’d prefer a standalone release that includes the shorter IMAX cut with the Brad Pitt narration and the 90 minute cut with Cate Blanchett. The three foreign releases above are all the 90 min version.

Cristian Mungiu's Graduation is available on Netflix.

The film will be released in the future by The Criterion Collection.

I think you mean the Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, not the director of Phoenix.

It's very good, by the way. Worth checking out if you're a fan of his other work.

i waited for years for this film and it wasn't worth it...
i don't know if the shorter version (without those low youtube quality videos) is any better..

thank you and thank you because 1) looking forward to seeing it and 2) in my head, I thought it was the same director, so I needed that clarification.

Isn't there a Criterion Flash Sale every February, or is my memory failing me?

I’ll bet $10,000 the flash sale will be the 13th or 14th (is the sale usually on Tuesday?)

'The Square' is only being released on DVD this coming Tuesday from magnolia, hopefully that means a Criterion bluray release will come at a later time.

As long as it's after Elevator to the Gallows on 2/6 I don't care when it is.

That won't keep me from acting like an impatient toddler starting 2/7 but still.

I’m guessing earlier this year because it seems that it always happens near a “big” release. SOTL and NOTLD seems too good to pass up.

The Criterion site doesn't tell whether something is a digipack? or am I missing where it states this information?

Disappointed to find out Night of the Living Dead is a digipack. It's possible I'll just get it anyway. Not sure yet.

Disappointed to find out Night of the Living Dead is a digipack. Nearly all the excitement for this release is now gone
