I was under the impression Irma Vep would come from Kino in the US if it came at all, since they've an exclusive deal with Zeitgeist, who had rights to it as recently as November.

I completely agree!

The Wings of Eagles, 3 Godfathers, and The Long Voyage Home are all great films that starred John Wayne and were directed by John Ford. They do not have Region A blu-ray releases.

No, they don't do announcements on the weekend. They'll either be Monday or Tuesday.

I would love a printable version (front and back) of that Howard the Duck cover so I could throw my blu ray in it....

Another John Ford one we need is Donavan's Reef. It has one of my favorite performances by Lee Marvin. It seems like Criterion likes John Ford, maybe someday they will be the ones to put this out? One can only dream....

Thank you. I appreciate that.

Here's the original size. Not sure how printable it is though, as I made it just for fun and had no ambitions beyond that.

Awesome, I love it. I like putting my blu rays into fake criterion covers. I have the Caddyshack one, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Rock, American Beauty and bunch of others. A Criterion release of Butch Cassidy with a new transfer and new extras, that would be a dream come true....

Did a little more digging on this: it looks like Irma Vep is no longer listed in the catalog on Zeitgeist's site, and their now out-of-print DVD was released in late 2008, so it seems a likely time for the rights to have expired.

So I guess I'll be holding off on the Arrow release after all...

This is the one I want to see happen.

I hope the reports that Criterion "Wasn't Interested" aren't true. Given that some of their choices, e.g. Jellyfish Eyes, aren't exactly high water marks of cinematic art I think they should reconsider.

Like every month, I hope a standalone Blu-ray release for The Last Picture Show will be announced.

I'm always hoping for more Pasolini (we need more Pasolini in Region A); I have all his stuff from overseas, but I'd like some US releases.

I want the remainder of Scorsese's films on blu (I hear they're doing "Mean Streets"); But I would rather they do films not on blu already, like "After Hours", "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore", "Who's That Knocking at My Door?", and "Bringing Out the Dead".

I hope for some more Bertolucci.

I'd love "Fingers", with Harvey Keitel.

James Toback history of sexual misconduct will likely prevent "Fingers" from seeing the light of day on Blu-Ray.

Like you I want to see Criterion tackle unreleased Scorsese Blu-Ray terriotory, especially "After Hours" or "Bringing Out The Dead", two extraordinary underrated dark comedies.

Oh man, when I read those reports I was legitimately offended. I hope it was a mischaracterization of their view.

Even if those comments were from a financial perspective, Jesse James will sell better than a lot of the stuff Criterion puts out. I mean, come on.

Seeing that TCM is currently showing the reconstructed 4hr cut of Greed has this been talked, hinted, or otherwise mentioned as a release from anyone? Even with the length and the abundance of stills used, I still sit here fascinated.
