The tombstone could be interpreted in two ways, either They Live By Night or Night of the Living Dead. Both were released, so I'd call that a double hint.

I saw this interpretation that T is for "Oh, T, hello!" = Othello.

Gotta say, I'm damn impressed to see The Tree of Life finally in the Criterion Collection. My favorite Malick films will always be The Thin Red Line and The New World though.

Same here... I've been starting films around 2:30 or 3 AM and finishing up around 5 in the morning. But I need to cut out this habit since I'm getting serious about starting a new career (going to a new school soon for Horticulture Technology - its an intensive 5 days a week / 8 month program) and I'll need to be waking up super early (classes start at like 8 AM)... so the days of watching films when most people are asleep will soon be history for me.

The dinner and a movie date seems like the classic first date, but I prefer not to sit next to a someone I don't know for 2 hours in silence. I have always enjoyed dates like coffee, a walk, or some type of activity that allows you to talk/interact without being stuck for a prefixed period of time (generally I avoid movie, sporting event, whale watching/harbor cruise).

I re-watched the BD of "Life is Sweet" by Mike Leigh. This is a truly special film that is in my top 3 favorite Leigh films along with "Naked" and "Secrets and Lies". It tells the story of a working-class couple and their two daughters.

Jim Broadbent and Alison Steadman are fantastic as the wife and husband who remain essentially optimistic despite the multitude of problems around them. Claire Skinner is amazing as Natalie, the tough-minded daughter who doesn't convey her emotions, but closely observes all that goes on around her. Jane Horrocks portrays the troubled daughter, Nicola, whose character is deliberately infuriating, but she infuses the role with an incredible sense of vulnerability. There is a scene where Steadman and Horrocks have a conversation that is so brutally realistic.

Also, the scene in which Broadbent and Steadman's sad-sack friend, played by Timothy Spall, gets fall-down drunk during the opening of his restaurant is alternately one of the saddest and funniest scenes I've seen. The entire film defines the word 'bittersweet'. Leigh is one of the finest filmmakers of recent memory and this film really captures what makes his work so brilliant. While "Naked" is a nihilistic masterpiece, this film finds a bit of hope in the gallows humor. It makes for an incredibly satisfying experience.

As a bonus, Leigh's commentary is one of my favorite director's commentaries I've heard. Even if you're not into listening to commentaries, it's worth listening to. David Thewlis and Stephen Rea appear in minor roles and leave indelible impressions. I'd recommend picking this title up to anyone who doesn't own it yet. I love it.

^Now there's a review that inspires a look-see

I loved Leigh's Secrets & Lies (and Topsy-Turvy), but found Naked's nihilism and wholly unsympathetic protagonist off-putting.

I only count 11 candles, unless the others are hidden behind the covers?

I don't know why I haven't seen it by now - it's been on my radar for years because I love the other two you mentioned. But I think Mr. Turner is the only other Leigh film I've seen. Thanks for the push.

That was a theory I had a while back too, but it does seem like a little bit of a stretch lol

I have a hard time imagining them constructing a clue for "Polyester" and not just using a parrot for the first half of the title. But I still enjoy this guess quite a bit.

This was my favorite guess for a while, but the lack of an O was always a big hole in the theory.

I think my first stab at it, was that the letter T is simply the clue itself. In other words Clue T...Klute.

I wish they had put one fake clue in each of their drawings, I love all of the T guesses.
