Even poorly done mock cover art beats the recent phenomenon of a referring to non-mononymous celebrities by their first names.

I nagged Criterion on twitter that they need to consider releasing 'Darling'. If any actress ever deserved to be in high definition it's Julie Christie in that film. Gorgeous. Great movie too.

The only DVD of the film that exists is a non-anamorphic version with about a minute cut from it by the original British censors.

Sue you? I'm going to ask for Criterions as damages.

I have to say I also love the fake covers. So keep them coming.

I just saw this.

I always look for bargains, but I'd pay full price for this.

They're gag covers for silly movies that are never in a million years going to get a Criterion release. Are you really expecting me to sit down and spend weeks painstakingly creating original art for each one?

I wish you would make some that have the front, back and spine. I would print them out and use them. I printed out The Disaster Artist /The Room combo you made (front only), I love it....

Filmstruck is really trying to prove itself as an essential streaming service. Fridays are becoming more interesting just to see what they add. Last week they added a bunch of African titles like a few from Sembene plus Yeelen (Brightness), a great African film that I've been wanting to see for years. Today they added 5 or so Lina Wertmuller films (most notably Swept Away), The Unknown, Possessed, The Women (1939), Lolita, Grand Hotel and a lot more. Obviously most classic Hollywood fans own the last three or four on Blu-ray, but for those that don't this is the only place to stream them.

what is the stream quality like? HBO GO is pretty poor while Netflix is really good. I didn't think there'd be a difference, but we watched Get Out w/ my in-laws from overseas and their (HBO GO) HD stream was pretty abysmal

Google is sporting a doodle of James Wong Howe today, the wonderful cinematographer of such films like Hud, Seconds, and Sweet Smell of Success.

I wouldn't be the right person to ask. Most, if not all, the content I watch is stuff that is not on blu-ray.

It would be cool to have an icon signifying whether the film you select is HD or not.

I've heard that, too. It must be true or some other label would have put it out by now. Criterion has a way of keeping titles out of circulation until they get around to it.

If Criterion has LOST HIGHWAY I wish they'd release it fast before I get any older.

Lost Highway is owned by MK2 currently, which is the owner of FWWM. If no one else is holding anything up it's probably safe to say Criterion will release it at some point.
