A few also have theatrical versions, but the television cuts/versions are the primary.
I'm pretty sure you must be aware that he means standard televisions series formats, i.e. shows with seasons, etc..not mini-series stuff.

MASSIVE improvement.

Once again, Jessica Chastain is front and center (assuming that's her on the cover, but who else could it be?), which makes me think the extended cut beefs up her role and significance. That was speculated earlier, either in this thread or the Tree of Life thread, with the previous cover also focusing on her.

Missing is being released in the UK by Indicator/Powerhouse: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=23436

I have a number of their titles, and the quality is excellent. Should also be region-free. With no hint of a Criterion upgrade, a likely pick up on release for me.

It also beefs up Sean Penn's role, which was considerably larger in the script and was a point of contention when the film was released that his role was essentially cut to shreds.

No, Missing is being licensed from Universal so it’ll be region B locked. Only their Sony titles are region free because Sony doesn’t seem to care about regions.

Okay. Thanks. I thought all their titles were. Certainly the ones I've picked up have been. I am region-free, so will still be a nice addition.

That's even better news. I remember Sean Penn's passionate interview on the subject, where he basically said the movie he acted in wasn't the one that was released. I'm very curious to see those additional scenes.

The script is one of the most interesting things I've ever read. I'm looking forward to seeing the extended cut.

When I first saw this movie (and also the subsequent second time too), I sensed that there was something truly missing from this film and that was Sean Penn's acting scenes. Terrence Malick is notorious for cutting out actors entirely from a film they starred in (The Thin Red Line is a good example with Mickey Rourke, Bill Pullman and a slew of others not making a single appearance in their shot scenes), so I definitely want to see this longer version as soon as its released.

Not only that, we've got people saying Malick movies are too short.

Penn's role works for his use in the film. I never really got the criticism that his role isn't understood or it should be fleshed out. It's one of my worries for the extended cut; so much of the film works because of its fleeting nature and unwillingness to contextualize.

And that script is something. It doesn't differ that much from what Penn mentioned in that interview, however.
