I think it has more to do with the fact that it doesn't need to be brought up in reviews at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Which one would you keep and why?

You're asking which one of the two films you just bought...you should get rid of.

Okay, then....

Ouch. Tough call, there. Both films are excellent. Really, I suppose it depends on whether you're in the mood for a Haneke film about deep-rooted problems in modern European culture; or are you in the mood for a Kiorastami film that examines relationships and how they are affected by aging?

Again, they are both terrific when it comes right down to it. I don't think I could choose.

I only watched Certified Copy twice and I can watch it again now. It's very conversation based but endlessly fascinating. I think you should keep Certified Copy.

If by crap, you mean one of the better, more thought-provoking films of the last 10 years, then I agree.

"[Faye Dunaway] looks incredibly sexy but is never a distraction."

I find Faye Dunaway to be incredibly sexy and a TOTAL distraction. She has made me lose my concentration while watching the films Bonnie and Clyde, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Towering Inferno, The 3 Musketeers, Little Big Man and others. I was fine with Mommie Dearest though, no distraction there....

I can't believe this but... I didn't buy a single Criterion during this Summer's sale. First time for me. (maybe cause I ran out of shelf space?)

I love mind-bending films that leave me scratching my head and asking myself, wtf just happened? Certified Copy is just that. It's a romantic drama that questions the meaning of relationships which lead to identity and existential crisis. This with superb acting, dialogue, and gorgeous cinematography make this film a must have.

I love films that feature the lives of its characters intersecting (Magnolia, Traffic, Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel) and Code Unknown is such a film. And it not only features the very beautiful, charming, lovely, and extremely talented Juliette Binoche but its also masterful directed by auteur Michael Haneke

Keep both.

(I love that gif.)

Think positive. Maybe it's because you're no longer trying to fill some hole in your heart with Criterions

I skipped the sale, too. There are several films on my list but not pressing. I've got plenty of blu-rays to watch.

They sure didn't waste time pouncing on that post, huh? Oh well, I'll echo your sentiment. The group sure did a great job tearing down that strawman.

And people really will try to fit snowflake into any conversation they can. It's comical.

Not at all, I meant it was one of the most pretentious and boring films I'd seen in the last 10 years.

I've never jumped the pond so quickly to pre-order anything before. I think I might feel a bit faint just considering it.

On a more related topic, Amazon seems to be 'out' of Criterion's Don't Look Now - is there reason to think that this has gone out of print? I've resisted picking up a copy because I've never seen the film. (It's reputation precedes it for me in that respect.) Today's the last day of the B&N sale, and it's either this or Tootsie.

I know, I know - apples and oranges...

What do you mean? It's considered a great horror classic.
