Not sure if anyone saw this

https://www.criterionchannel.com/dir...akira-kurosawa

So this pretty much confirms that Criterion has Ran once again. However, Kagemusha is not present here. Didn't Criterion lose the rights to Kagemusha?

Any one or two of these great films:

Bringing Up Baby (1938)
Chinatown (1974)
The Last Picture Show (1971) (standalone release)
Network (1976)

That would be my Paramount wish too. I've been waiting for it to get a BD release. That and Targets.

There’s nary a film more worthy than The Beat That My Heart Skipped. A top 5 for me. I have the French Blu, which is solid, but I bet a fresh 4K scan would bring out some extra detail and depth.

What is wrong with the current release of Chinatown? It seems fine to me.

It does show its age but I’d much rather Paramount release an UHD.

A Bergman standalone (The Passion of Anna, After the Rehearsal), a Kurosawa upgrade (Drunken Angel, Stray Dog, Red Beard, Dodeskaden), plus something exciting and new to the format.

I thought it was remastered by Paramount. Yes, a UHD would be perfect.

Still holding out hope Criterion will be the ones to satisfy my need for a full-on Arsenic and Old Lace release on Bluray.

I wish they would do a new restoration of Seven Samurai. I wanted my blu-ray disc recently. It's been several years since I watched it. It looked worse than I remembered.

I'd love to get David Mamet's Homicide sometime this year.
