Sorry i never heard of that movie before. But yes he may have taken ideas from others movies (but every movie takes ideas these day there is no truly original ideas left) but it was still original for Hollywood which was my point. I was talking about Hollywood all along. I dont know every movie made in every country so i am sure other movies i think are original have been done before in other countrys but maybe not in Hollywood. Sorry if my opinion differs but i still stand by it being one of the most original Hollywood movies in awhile.

They were born with silver spoons in their mouths. They'll be given any role they want because of their parents. I thought The Karate Kid was an ok movie...if it were original. I'm pretty sure you could put the Will Smith remake on mute and play the audio from the 1984 film together and they would almost sync up. Jayden Smith would have an Italian American accent.

That doesn’t mean he’ll take the job.

So is Ryan Murphy a good choice to direct? I honestly don’t know, not being a Glee watcher. We know almost nothing about the ideas that are behind the script, other than ‘turn Willow Smith into a film star.’ That, and the songs, will be a huge part of any potential success for the film.

I’m more interested in The Normal Heart, the film Mr. Murphy said he would direct with Mark Ruffalo starring and a tentative start date in June of this year. It’s an adaptation of a play about the early outbreak of AIDS in New York City — serious stuff, and a real dramatic turn away from the other films he’s been offered.

Ryan Murphy not directing Annie

Ryan Murphy will not be directing the upcoming remake of Annie, according to reports.

The Glee creator was Sony Pictures and Will Smith's first choice to direct the reboot of the musical, due to star Smith's daughter Willow in the title role.

According to Deadline, discussions between Sony Pictures and Murphy "broke down", and the director has now dropped out of contention.

The movie is the start of a joint venture between Will's company Overbrook Entertainment and fellow rapper Jay-Z to produce films. Willow was signed to Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation in 2010.

I like Will Smiths talent as well as Jay-Z's..

we all know Hollywood has ran out of ideas..these remakes aren't the first sign of that.

I honestly think there could be an interesting take on the property here. I'd love to see the project go forward and update the songs with more modern flavor.

Honestly I don't think there would be a problem with Will Smith being James Bond because he's black. I think there would be a problem because he's AN AMERICAN. I think it would make far more sense for Idris Elba to be cast as James Bond if the producers were considering going that route.
