Vizio P series:

Awefully strange that this thread has 3 million views bit only 8500 posts.
Strange? Not really. Everyone's an expert on AVS so everyone chimes in, but most folks know not to tangle with the big guns up in here and it's been a fantastic resource (albeit a rather jumbled resource, it's like having a library where someone's lost the index cards ) for all sorts of production and post-production related titbits that don't really engender huge amounts of discussion.

for any UK users tesco have started to sell uhd blu-ray in store now.

This week saw the Martian EE enter the bluray chart in both BD and UHDBD. The UHD costs £20.

Next week the revenant and deadpool are going to be in the bluray chart too.

It doesn't look like they are selling them online though.

Given that the HFR iteration is the preferred version (over the traditional 2K 24fps), I would say that a 60fps UHD Blu-ray version of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk would be the proper! thing to eventually offer home physical media consumers in order to honor creative intent in the best way.

Although (for traditionalists) something also to keep in mind is that even the 24fps version of ‘Billy’ will offer greater detail than traditional 24fps movies because Billy is sourced from 120fps and the shutter settings are looking good.

It’s been a challenge to catch up to the nearly 5 Million viewership thread because despite having gone into hibernation quite awhile ago , it continues to accumulate views over time given its legacy for accuracy.

That's the thing, I've mentioned before that I've used the motion interpolation on my TV for movies like the Hobbitses because their acquisition is more suited to it, even in 24p they give the interpolator more to 'hang on to' which results in smoother motion with FAR fewer artefacts than normal 24fps film, and so the regular Blu of Billy Lynn will be no exception. But I'd be down for a 60p UHD Blu for sure.

Yes, when you factor in greater than 24fps temporal resolutions (e.g. 60fps, 120fps) to the more commonly written about spatial resolution (UHD 4K), the clarity of detail to the overall effective resolution is good value.

I think this will become readily apparent to NYFF attendees next week during both the close-ups and wide angle shots.

Speaking of which, I thought the latest X-Men picture had more of a video-like cadence than on previous films and so it proved, on the BTS footage you can see that they shot it with a 270-degree shutter. Watching it again with the Clear setting on my TV's MotionFlow worked very well indeed to eke out more temporal resolution with no artefacts.

Due to the 120fps acquisition, shooting Billy Lynn required 2½ times the amount more light than that for a typical motion picture. Comprehensive production report coming soon.

P.S.
For those unaware, Billy was shot by John Toll.

For those readers who already knew that ^, which actor had a role in two 4K movie releases this year - both Sully and Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk?

Hint: hangs in hotlanta.

Still no signs of a 4K DCP for "Inferno".

Also has accomplished a Juris Doctor degree, subsequently passing the bar in Georgia.….http://www.martindale.com/Results.as...Laura%20Wheale .

She appeared in a supporting role as a reporter interviewing Tom Hanks in Sully. For BLLHW, she plays one of Billy’s sisters. A recent local interview….

Same here. Typically if there is a 4K master they are promoting that in interviews or press notes. I haven't seen anything linking Inferno to having 4K yet other than IMDb...

And the movie is having an IMAX DMR blow-up... does IMAX do that to movies that are already 4K?

Sony doesn't have this movie on their own website either. Some Sony titles were known for months. This one isn't. Normally Sony is proud to present their 4K DCP titles.

Skyfall did get a DMR treatment as well.
