I'm not sure if this is the right thread to bring this up, but I'm curious what people think. UHD sales seem to be going well, and more people are buying 4K sets. But there's still a general push towards a digital future, and I for one find it difficult to find BDs or UHDs in stores like Best Buy and Wal-Mart these days compared to a few years ago as they don't carry much stock. Video games have it even worse. So I'm wondering if moving forward, there will still be a lot of support for physical UHD home media, or will UHD be the last generation?

Right now the UHD versions have regular BD versions added to the package, so what I was wondering is that how much does it add price to it, instead if the movie was just sold with single 4k uhd?

For this ^ Hulu required a 4K master. Color was done from the original 8K camera media, which was debayed and scaled to 4K. On a VFX note, certain shots were done from the full 8K files, but generally, VFX was a 4K process. |
