Army of Darkness -> Sept 15 - Blu-ray Forum

Not that I want to start rumors or anything but for a big studio release, three weeks away and no artwork? This smells like a titlte that is being delayed. Plus, on DVDAF.com, for the longest time they had May 19 as the date of release but I noticed today that the release date has disappeared and where the studio name is it says "Not Announced": http://www.dvdaf.com/search.html?has...F*rgn_us*med_b

And on Amazon, it simply says that "this title has not yet been released" as opposed to them listing the release date as usual. Now, why would this be delayed? It's been available for some time in the UK, also has previously been available on HD DVD. Any thoughts? Any confirmations on this?

I've been afraid of it being delayed, so I haven't gotten my hopes up, but I hope we get confirmation one way or the other.

Lets just hope that they're at least working on a better transfer than what the HD DVD offered. Would be nice if they could include the Director's Cut as well...

Universal usually does not release catalog cover art until a week before release date. In fact, nearly every catalog title has had the art revealed about five days before the release date.

Just because there is no art does not mean there is release. Grease comes out next week and the back cover has yet to be posted on retailer sites. Bleak House and Dog Soldiers also do not have front cover art up yet.

Sorry... but how is any of that relevant? lol Aren't we talking about Army of Darkness' potential delay & Universal cover art? Those are all other brands.

I daresay reading the thread would also be relevant.

I have asked multiple times in the Digital Bits insiders thread but no one answered everytime, and I am not the only person who has asked. I also sent an email over to Universal with no reply as of yet. I will be disappointed if this release disappears. If it is delayed hopefully Uni releases it and Darkman when they release Drag Me to Hell day-and-date.

I agree; those are Paramount (Grease) and First Look (Dog Soldiers). I'm going by DVDAF which are very reliable and if they pulled the release date and are now posting "Not Announced", I think there's a good chance we won't be seeing AOD on the shelves come May 19th. Also, as an example, Universal had the artwork for Pitch Black and Riddick weeks before their release so no artwork is not a good sign at all. I'm just getting a bad feeling about this one. Hopefully it's to give us a better Blu-ray presentation of this fine Bruce Campbell movie

All signs point to it being delayed after all. Something must have stopped it...

Maybe the extras that were on the Anchor Bay release were not cleared. Maybe the transfer was not ready. Who knows but it does not look hopeful for May.

Maybe Universal decided to save it for when Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell" hits BD. They are also distributing that movie.

Yet I've had art just a few days after announcement of Grease. Anyway, this is delayed.
