I haven't read through the thread much, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I went to FYE and saw they had about five or six different UHD titles including Chappie (I believe they were each from the same distributor) for only $24.99 each. Sounds like a good price to me.

Trust me...There isn't a studio in town that would do ANYTHING with a Scorcese film without his or Thelma's input...

Warner Bros in a press release dated Feb 22 2016 (re)confirmed the 4K UHD blu-ray release of 'Pacific Rim' and 'Man of Steel' later this year.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...300223858.html

I don't know why Pacific Rim no longer shows in the Complete list of upcoming 4K Blu-ray movies, and why the cover artwork (TBA) by Scorpion Soldier was removed from both titles. But I hope someone can correct it.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) is now listed in the 4K UHD blu-ray section of a large Scandinavian website for buying blu-rays and DVDs. No release date yet.

With regards to a different television show (fantasy), coming for our Japanese membership with a 4K pedigree….

The Peanuts Movie came into the store today so I grabbed a couple of shots. Is this the first movie to come out in four formats on day one?

Officially The Peanuts Movie has a release date of: March 8, 2016. All formats have the same release date, yes.

About Star Wars: the Force Awakens

From American Cinematographer:

Quote:
Deliverables for The Force Awakens included a 2D and 3D 2K DCP, a 2D and 3D Imax DCP, 35mm archival prints, and a small number of 70mm exhibition prints. Stereo D handled the stereoscopic conversion. The final color grade was performed at Company 3 in Los Angeles, where colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld, an ASC associate member, worked with 4K scans from FotoKem (65mm) and EFilm (35mm).

Glad to see Fox going hard on 4K. Really hope for an announcement soon for True Lies on 4K. Also hoping for a 25th Anniversary Edition 4K Terminator 2 announcement. That would be EPIC!!!
True lies won't happen for a long time... Fox already mentioned that they want Cameron to supervise the transfer of his movies (True Lies, Abyss, Strange Days) but he is busy with Avatar 2

Well all formats in this case, yes. A first for UHD.

Regarding all formats in general, that is a no because studios are doing digital earlier more and more.

This is why I find discussions about "director's intent" to be so hilarious. Exactly which one of these formats is how the movie is "supposed to look?" One of them? All of them?
