My "pristine" comment was slightly tongue-in-cheek, it's more a reference to how OLED seems to be this untouchable tech in the eyes of the cognoscenti. It's no small irony that LCD's persistent issues with uniformity and clouding (oh how the plasma crowd laughed) have been almost resolved in conjunction with a full array backlight (almost ) while OLED can have streaking/banding and patches of discolouration.

oh, you mean the soccer thing as in the #1 most watched sporting event in the world - https://www.huffingtonpost.co.za/201...on_a_23367211/ , that's still active .

The semi-final with England starts in < 1 hour. For those in my time zone who are on the job, remember, don't let the boss catch you. This works with World Cup tournament watching too –https://dms.licdn.com/playback/C5105...8u8r2GlRa2LQh8

Wishing all my HDR peeps a happy national mojito day. Sadly, this pic from our vacation last year will have to suffice as I'm unable to acquire a fresh mojito today. Salud.

If by "football" you mean soccer, normally I don't. However, great grandma & grandpa Wabo were from Croatia. So I have the feisty Crow running thru me veins and will cheer for the motherland. Albeit in small doses. Too much foosball will put me to

This is actually huge news since MS was a "Samsung Hardware Partner" and they were using the console to promote QLED and was also promoted to be working on an update that would allow HDR10+.

I don't think anyone actually gave much thought to the HDR10+ update when there isn't any content available and figured there won't be any HDR10+ content available in the foreseeable future if ever at all.

DV on the other hand has already established itself as a premium HDR format with plenty of availability with the rate only increasing.

I think it's possible that HDR10+ will eventually come to XBox One X for sure. When? Who knows. Might as well just say it's out tomorrow with a fake news update, as no one will ever actually be able to prove the HDR10+ is working or not since HDR10+ content will never come out.

The Dolby Vision on Xbox One only talks about streaming, but what about discs? I know they are different Dolby Visions, but I think the disc one matters more!

DV is way more common with streaming. Hell, it looks like Disney has given up including DV on discs and will only include it with streams on Vudu.

Nice try at trolling, but you'd have a point if there was a third party certification for them.

You know something we don't know? Because their last 3 releases, including their biggest 4K release ever, have not included DV.
