Hey, tunneling worked for dynamic metadata (across < HDMI 2.1, for that matter, even less than HDMI 2.0a). I’d try that for any physical barrier too, just ask El Chapo.

Nope, your two Facebook links don't work for me.
And I'm up-to-date with the latest Internet hardware and software. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram links ... you name it they always work for me on my end. It must be something else...perhaps Chuck Norris? ...Billy Bob Thornton? * Other Blu members can check those two Facebook links to see if I'm not alone. |

I googled Facebook.com/halfwayhousecafe ... and all links are broken.
This one works though but I don't think it's the right one: • https://m.facebook.com/halfwayhousec...=page_internal And no I did not edit Vincent's YouTube video @ the spot you linked. I like Vincent; there are not many people in the audio/video industry (business, dealers, advertisers, salesmen, ...) who are upfront, honest, unbiased and with his integrity's level. That'll be the day. With rare people like Vincent we learn and advance, with the rest who get paid for advertising and selling products from their dealerships and advertising manufacturers we get harassed by their bias and salel pitches and deceived. There are few rare exceptions of course, but we don't get the full scope. With Vincent we do. With Robert too. Anyway I'm sure you know all about it. It's nice to be free in a free country where free speech is our right. The more aware we are, the better informed with the truth, the better off we all are. Deforming and wrongly interpreting and quickly judging without knowing and seeing the full picture is a quality of many. * Get me that Maverick mug (post a direct picture of it). ...A well lit one, HDR enlightened, fully detailed. |

Personally though, I’d be most impressed if he (coming from Manchester? if I recall) could correctly predict who will win the Prem this year as I’m soon putting money on that and our local Blu-ray.com thread on the Prem has stalled out ![]() Quote:

* Your two Facebook links work on another device, just not the one I was using @ the time. That's ok I'm about to switch brand...from Microsoft to Apple. Apple is becoming more affordable now, with their constant share losing streak. ** We all do make small mistakes occasionally, nothing tragic like that documentary 'Making a Murderer' on Netflix, or 'The Innocent Man' from the same channel. Of course Vincent is not perfect, but better than most of the rest. I also like rtings.com, but neither they are perfect, better than most with complete analysis and comparisons. Good place to shop for HDR TVs. ⛾Test: https://m.facebook.com/HalfwayHouseCafe/ ... Works/Doesn't work (depending of the device) ⛾⛾The Twitter link works: https://mobile.twitter.com/_HalfwayHouse Last edited by LordoftheRings; 01-05-2019 at 05:53 AM. |

AV1 & Dolby Vision
https://twitter.com/DanielBa78/statu...20410687143936 Unlike HEVC, AV1 is a royalty-free codec. AV1 is supported by a strong group of companies including Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix, Facebook or Intel. AV1 will co-exist with HEVC. TVs will also support AV1 from 2020, when AV1-compliant SoC will be available. HDR AV1 video >> Internet >> future TV with AV1 decoding ![]() Current HDR TVs will be able to play HDR AV1 videos via future cheap streaming players such as Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K or Chromecast Ultra. HDR AV1 video >> Internet >> future streaming player with AV1 decoding > decoded HDR video signal >> HDMI >> current HDR TV Unlike its royalty-free predecessor VP9, AV1 can convey HDR dynamic metadata. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/465-h...l#post56949056 Along with HEVC, Dolby Vision can use AV1 (Dolby Vision Profile 10). The new Dolby Vision Profile 10 can support HFR up to 120 fps. It can also support 8K UHD: 8K@120 (Dolby Vision Level 13), 4K@120 (Dolby Vision Level 10). https://www.avsforum.com/forum/465-h...l#post57341420 ![]() Last edited by DanBa; 01-05-2019 at 01:52 PM. |
