I recently upgraded my receiver to a new lossless supporting one.
The difference for some films wasn't huge, but I rented The Patriot and was pretty blown away by that film's sound quality!

+1 here - thanks to my beautiful wife on our anniversary, I now also have lossless capability and am re-discovering blu-ray audio.
Watched Bourne Ultimatum last night - the train station scene and the NYC car chase at the end are great audio sequences (immersion in the former and pans/directionality in the latter)...

Airliner rescue in Superman Returns.
Empire State finale in King Kong.
Lower Wacker chase from Dark Knight.

And the scene from Predator where Bill Duke unloads the minigun into the forest along with the rest of the guys sounds really really...loud!

This is one I'd like to see on Blu. Not a great film, but the DVD is one I used for several years to show off AQ. Good use of surrounds and deep, deep bass. Can only imagine how it would sound on Blu!

I'd add the few actions scenes from Knowing to the top of the list. This disc's audio was absolutely sensational.

If you like big sound and big explosions, check out "Behind Enemy Lines". The scene where Owen Wilson is running away from the exploding mine field really impresses me. Lots of audio detail, as gravel lands on the ground, glass breaks, etc.

holy crap do I have an addition to this thread

my cousin rented Knowing (average flick btw...glad I didnt pay for it), and right before the plane-crash scene came on, I went to the kitchen to make a sandwich. Next thing I know, I hear this HUGE explosion! I turn around and saw that my cousin jumped from the couch onto the floor, and he yelled out "HOLY SH*T!!" as loud as he humanly could! It was hilarious. I could feel the floor vibrating and when I sat back on the couch it was shaking! Easily my favorite audio moment on Blu Ray so far!

wow, just saw Kong...it definitely gets a nomination for best AQ Blu along with:

Master and Commander
Band of Brothers
Cloverfield

I see 300 on alot of lists here but correct me if im wrong, isnt it only a digital 5.1 same as DVD. I wasnt blown away by the PQ or the AQ on that title, my favs are def

nd a surpring one is A NIghtmare on Elm Street, it had some great background sound effects that I had never heard on the DVD versions, I show that one off to people who have seen it on dvd

I have to concur, the sounds of the gunshots blew me away!! It sounded like a freaking cannon!

Gotta agree with this one too!! So many amazing moments:

Missile attack and fighter jet crash
Gunshots
Land mine scene

What's best is that the score came through cleanly, fine detail was found in the ambience and dialogue was excellent.

Bourne Ultimatum is reference throughout. I'm still amazed at the amount of fine detail and ambience in every scene. No, not loud unrealistic ambience but realisitic, atmospheric ambience.

Deservedly won best sound.

I agree with most of the titles listed. Youth without Youth and Spiderman 3 both have incredible sound.

no, 300 has a PCM track. its great, but nowhere in my top 10
