I watched DareDevil again last night and the director's cut scene where DD takes on the biker bar has to be the best scene.

3:10 to Yuma and The Orphanage for me.
And SAW 5 is pretty cool, they almost over use all of the rears.

It may not be reference but I can't stop whistling the Pan's Labyrinth theme after thinking about 7.1 Blu-rays.

Love this film more every time I watch it.

Also, Here's a link.......

I'm sure if you just sort through them, you'll find the ones that are 7.1 and the ones that aren't.....

Amazing that these best audio, best video threads pop up 20 times a day...... Do people still watch films, or just use them to show off 10 minute chunks to friends and neighbors

Baraka is discussed ad naseum regarding the PQ, but rarely does the the "Story" told through pictures, come up.

It may be old, but Sleeping Beauty has an excellent 7.1 track. Just not much bass. I also say Nightmare Before Christmas.

Yes, I find this with Baraka. I have watched it many times from beginning to end (mostly on DVD before BD came out) but I can rarely get others to actually sit through the entire movie. Just about everybody is impressed with the PQ and enjoys specific scenes, I just do not know that many people that can watch from beginning to end.

Default Wowee - Serenity

I was blown away by serenity. It has amazing clarity above and beyond its dvd or HD-dvd counterpart.

There was one bit where a bass sound was sucked from the edges of the room into the middle of my room just in front of my TV. It was a very tinny high end bass sound at the edges of the room and as it sucked towards the middle it became darker and more muffled until the sounds almost popped into nothing. It felt like I was being sucked into a vaccum and is one of the best effects I have ever heard.

Throughout the film, dialogue is crisp clear and you dont strain to hear it and the engine noise of Serenity made me feel like my neighbours may knock at the door and ask if I was ok.

Brilliant

Did you watch any of the special features? That was a 3 minute continuous shot. It took them a day to set it up and rehearse it and another day and several takes to get it right. Amazing shot and great movie.

I decided to revisit Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within today. This still holds up as a reference disc for audio. The dialogue is clean and clear, the music is well distributed through all the channels, and the sound mix is enveloping. It's subtle and nuanced in the quieter moments. Then punchy and agressive for the action sequence. It has a great amount of LFE that's never overcooked.

This is a great disc to show off your sound system.

This version of Twister. If anybody thought the Warner Bros. edition was great, you haven't heard or seen anything yet.
