Default Blu-ray with the best surround sound that you own!

List the best sounding blu-ray you own here!

My pick is Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. It has an amazing 7.1 lossless mix that shkes my whole living room. The scene where the tooth fairies come out is incredible.

Yup, that one is a belter. I have to say my favourite one so far is the UK version of Suspiria. There will certainly be better surround mixes out there as this movie is late 70's but it's soundtrack is the stuff of legend and absolutely explodes in disc.

Was really impressed with Hot Fuzz which I bought recently. Stunning PQ as well.

Thumbs up Best Blu ray Movie AUDIO thread

Im somewhat new to the home theater biz. I officially finished my setup. And it sounds great. 7.1 consisting of rm8 satellites(4) psw505 sub(1) cs10 center(1) and m40 fronts(2)

Had it configured and to my liking for almost 1 week now. And so far the best movie ive heard is:

R.E.D.--love the constant action, not too many lull spots at all in the movie.
Favorite scene: The straight shootout meltdown of the house in the beginning
.

Whats your favorite blu ray to show off your Home theaters sound system?

Just watched Star Trek 2009 again and IMO that is still one of the absolute best out of all the blus I have owned and/or rented for audio..........AMAZING!

So many good ones though..........as far as 2010 releases go, I would have to say How To Train Your Dragon was most likely my favorite overall for audio.

The best/most insane LFE moment of the 2010 blu rays IMO is the wave-wall scene near the end of The Last Airbender........HOLY SHIT! If I owned this movie, this scene would be my go-to subwoofer/LFE demo piece.

My overall favorite audio track on blu though is probably The Incredible Hulk........this one has it all and the LFE is mind blowing!

I still use that scene if I want to hear loud bass.

Overall, the AQ is very good on The Pacific.

I'd also recommend War of the Worlds and Rambo 2008

I love The Pacific. Great series with reference quality AQ and PQ. The battle scenes have excellent surround sound with outstanding LFE to match.

I agree with many of the previous posts. There are so many good sounding BD's lately. Here are some of my favorites that I havent seen mentioned.

Pandorum
Ninja Assassin
Top Gun - DTS-HDMA 6.1 mix
Slumdog Millionaire
Pearl Harbour*
Book of Eli
Tangled
The Great Raid
IMAX Super Speedway
Flight of the Phoenix
Bourne Supremacy/Ultimatum..

and three movies in my top 10 of all time were just released this month!!

The Incredibles
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1
and TRON Legacy - If you dont think this movie had one of the best AQ mixes then something must be wrong with your system.. Deathly Hollows comes pretty close though. Check it out if you havent yet. I have to rewatch TRON again just to see which I like better..

Have to tip my hat to The Incredibles. Just stellar sound all around and Michael Giacchino's score is one of the best scores you'll ever hear.

(would like to check out the Tim Burton "Nightmare Before Christmas" with it's Dolby True-HD 7.1 track, but at $27.99 for a movie that's just 76 minutes long, that isn't happening for a LOONNNGGG time... )
well it's rumoured that a 3D (hopefully combo pack) release of 'Nightmare Before Christmas' is expected by the Fall, maybe they'll be a coupon and all to reduce the price. As for the 7.1 mix - wow, the soundfield throws sound into every nook and cranny of the listening space for the viewer (not to mention tight bass) that it sounds way better than it's theatrical 5.1 mix.

Definitely echo the sentiments about THE INCREDIBLES. Based on the DVD's DD EX track, had no idea that the BD's DTS-MA ES track would sound that good! I was even surprised by quality of what I heard from the back channel.
