I agree with you, the scene with the prison break-in/out is great for AQ.

WATCHMEN has an amazing amount of agressiveness to the mix, however it took some tinkering with the volume to find the right spot as I had to boost volume over my normal DTSMA level. I would say this is the most powerful Warner track i've heard.

nd a surpring one is A NIghtmare on Elm Street, it had some great background sound effects that I had never heard on the DVD versions, I show that one off to people who have seen it on dvd

Along with many Warner discs, you need to hit the popup menu and choose Dolby TrueHD, or PCM. Anyways, 300 sounds incredible.

They really need to change that, I've had to rewatch 3 movies because of that.

Warner Release Gran Torino (UK Version) is straight to TrueHD, I didn't have to change it via pop-up menu. Maybe our rambling paid off.

It is so powerful precisely because the dialog volume is lower. This gives the mix more dynamic range to work with so that it has room for the loud moments to be really loud. But yeah my Onkyo 607 receiver that usually has a volume setting of 56 when watching movies had to be set to 67 for the proper level on Watchmen.

This problem is not present on the Watchmen BD because the English DTS-MA track is the only choice you have.

I realize this, but in general, there is no need to have the lesser track defaulted.

I watched Watchmen... and it has to be one of the best aq out there. There were a few scenes but the opening fight with 'The Comedian' was great... the music was so crisp in that scene then the opening credits.

I think I will watch it again tomorrow.
