After watching Casino Royale and Deja Vu tonight I think both are reference material and have moved up to the top of the list.

Master and Commander is only $14 on amazon! This is a steal for the best audio BD (IMO), and a great film. Mine is in-transit as we speak

Although certainly not a rousing onslaught of sound, the moments in The Prestige when they use the Tesla machine are really exceptionally involving.

Anyways, whenever I want to test audio, I always pop in 3:10 to Yuma.
Everyone mentions the wood splintering...which is great....but be sure (not that it's possible to miss) be sure to look up when below-deck and all the loud footsteps rush over head.

I hadn't watched Master & Commander until I set up my front-height "surrounds" so I don't know how much difference they make....but a friend told me his didn't sound like mine when he watched.

I swear there was someone on my roof running perfectly in step!!

the replies make me laugh bwahaha

i just upgraded to an Onkyo 507 and love it.

Blackhawk Down wins the prize for me!! When they first rope in and get into position, incredible sound.

I really need to re-watch my entire collection because i'm hearing things that weren't there before! I've heard Castaway is pretty good, especially the crash scene.

The opening chase scene in Quantum of Solace is the best audio quality I've heard on Blu-ray. Great sound mix in the first place, but it is reproduced quite nicely on Blu.

I wish there was more LFE in that scene. The overall mix was great, but I like lots of bass. I thought the opening chase scene in Casino Royale was better than the one in Quantum.

There are now plenty of mainstream titles which demonstrate the highest order of audio quality.

Air Force One, for being a bit older, has incredible audio. Audio fans would do well to add that one to their collection (happens to be $14.99 this week at Best Buy, in-store). Watchmen: Director's Cut has an overall excellency which cannot be denied, with great attention to sound design and sonic detail. No Country for Old Men, with it's methodical plot, has some of the most articulate dialog reproduction you can hear, as does The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Castaway sounds awesome. There's a lot of great ambient sounds on the island. And yeah, the crash scene sounded awesome! The very beginning of the crash scene will make you jump

These are my favorite demo scenes:

Transformers - Freeway scene/Optimus fight, Iron Hyde flip
Transformers 2 - Optimus flip in warehouse
Behind Enemy Lines - after execution when they fire on the hillside
U-571 - depth charge scene
Benjamin Button - U-boat shootout
Rambo - rifle shot, last shootout
Incredible Hulk - campus fight scene, end fight scene
Cloverfield - street shootout when entering subway
Band of Brothers - shelling scenes in Episode 7
Flight of the Phoenix - sandstorm airplane ride
Miami Vice - drug deal sniper shots
Kung Fu Panda - skidoosh
The Dark Knight - ballistics test, tunnel chase
i, Robot - tunnel scene, a few bike parts

These are all tracks I can listen to over and again:

The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man
DareDevil
The Dark Knight
The Watchmen
Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions
Cloverfield
Quantum of Solace
Van Helsing
Rambo
Doom
ID4
King Kong
Wanted
Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen
Master and Commander: Far Side of The World
Fearless

Each film has a couple or more stand-out demo scenes to show off your system. My favorite of these at this time is The Incredible Hulk... The sound mix for this film is an instant classic.

That is a great collection of movies. I'm pleased to say I almost have a dozen of them. Of those that I don't, I'm looking to add at least Master and Commander to my collection.

I would like to recommend the Bourne movies too though. A fabulous trilogy, and they all sound spectacular.

This is not demo material but i was watching for first time The forbidden kingdom and so i've heard a fly flying around my head, i started moving my arms desperately to hit it or make it go away and then i realized it could be from the movie... so i had to pause it, rewind it 10 seconds and see that indeed, it came from the flick (altho there is no fly that you see on that scene).

it was marvelous! well my lack of english grammar doesnt help when i try to explain some stuff, but i hope you get what i mean hehe
