WOW where to start, sooo many great mixes these days. For me I always end up falling on a couple of standbys for testing system changes and tweaks.
1.) Killers live from royal albert hall
2.) Transformers ROTF starting with the devastator scene
3.) New to the list Tron Legacy for overall dynamics and range
4.) Serenity for the opening credits great dynamic range
5.) Spiderman 3 LPCM 5.1 Sandman is born scene (sustaned bass oh yeah)

thanks,
T

There are a ton of rattle-your-windows action movies that sound awesome on Blu, but I always thought that this was one of the most enveloping sound fields I've ever heard. Never dominating, always adding to the scenes. The score was as much a part of the movie as Hanks & Newman's performances - and yes, there are some sequences that will flex your system's muscles!

Taking everything into account (story, cinematography, PQ/AQ, performances, etc), probably one of my top 5 discs.

I would start with the Iron Man 2 just to demo the intro shoot to thrill moments, I would then move into any of the Harry potter films (deathly hallow pt 1 is spectaculat) you may want to check out the first flight of Iron Man in Iron Man 1 and then finish up with the incredibles (because once you get this one going you won't be able to stop the ride of audible bliss )

The last ~15 minutes of The Incredible Hulk cant be beat as far as demo scenes go if you have a capable low end IMO.

Lots of other great demo scenes though from various films.

Well Kev I don't see it in your list so I am going to say Tron Legecy Unless you have an aversion to the film in general. However for no other reason then pure sonic bliss this is one of the current front runners for Audio Mix of the year and its only April.

Latest ones for me:
The Pacific
SPR
War of the Worlds
The Incredibles (Best AQ for Pixar to date)
I forgot to add Tron Legacy. AQ is probably the best release out now regarding sound based on my collection.

Tron Legacy is definitely the audio track to beat as far as 2011 goes so far!

I've been listening to the Tron Legacy soundtrack at work for about 3 weeks now. Saw the movie twice. Will most definitely consider picking it up for reference material.

Surprised that a 5.1 mix would get this nod instead of a more recent title with 7.1 (like Toy Story 3). I suppose there is far more action in Incredibles though, which would make sense for showcasing range.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army has a very active 7.1 surround mix, and deep, powerful LFE.

I was wondering, is there a way to digitally measure a blu-ray's LFE? Is there software out there that would give you a graph of a blu-ray's sound frequencies? If there is, this might be a good way of determining exactly which blu-ray's have the best LFE.
