Only 3 movies

This is not the only movies I own that looks this good and if you were to ask me tomorrow I would probably pick other movies (except for Thin Red Line)...

Thin Red Line - This movie was so sharp and had such depth that it looked 3D even on my 2D display!

Crank - I like the movies (not why I picked it though, but let the flaming commence if you feel like it ). It was one of my first BR movies and I realized I was sitting there almost counting the hairs on Jason's head because of the very clear image.

The LOST series - Just because a TV-series shouldn't be allowed to look this good

Glad we all have different views in what we see as a good PQ transfer. Because some of those choices people have put, has me scratching my head.

Films shot in 3d and watch in 2d like Avatar have black levels problems and nobody mentions them. Black grading changes back and fourth when a 3d scene happens. The blacks go a bit lighter then back to normal. Same with RES EVIL 4 and no reviewer ever mentions it.

Monsters Inc

Sin City

Gladiator or Minority Report

Gonna switch it up a bit, here are 3 catalog titles from Criterion that can stand up to any modern movie release:

1.) The Seventh Seal - the opening scene on the beach just blew me away when I got this on blu.

2.) The Leopard (Italian Version) - absolutely stunning PQ from Criterion

3.) Days of Heaven - another jawdropper on par with Malick's The Thin Red Line transfer on blu.

Going by what I've seen, which isn't a whole lot...

Saving Private Ryan
Troy
Apocalypse Now

(runner up: I, Robot)

And since it's unfair to put animated films in the same category since they completely dominate live-action in this respect, here are the top 3 animated films I have seen on blu-ray, PQ-wise...

Rango
How To Train Your Dragon
Cars

(runner up: Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs)

I recently purchased Wall-E, Ratatouille and A Bug's Life, so from what I'm hearing, my top 3 animated may change very soon. I also own and need to watch Avatar as well as the first Pirates of the Caribbean (the good one), so perhaps my other list will change soon, as well. I hope so.

But neither one were shot in the IMAX film format. Outside of some of the IMAX documentaries which are close to perfect, I'd say the best live action IMAX shots would be found in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Jaw-dropping in the theater and on Blu-ray, each time I see those shots I am reminded why I made the switch to Blu-ray.
