Well, I'm certainly no audiophile (as long as it's loud and crisp I'm happy. lol I don't get into all the specifics like separation or surround accuracy) The best-sounding movies I've watched are Thor, Star Trek (2009), Brave, Fast Five, The Incredible Hulk, Inception and The Dark Knight.

Most recently, 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

This movie has excellent sound design with loads of surround activity. The score resonates beautifully and this has everything from subtle atmospherics to full-out action sequences.

It has been a very long time since an audio track wowed me like this one did.

Agreed! It want bass heavy, but very clean, discrete! Loved the score mix!

If you want to be "wowed" again, may I suggest Flight of the Phoenix.

The entire plane crash landing sequence is beyond epic, when it comes to reference quality lossless audio.
Some of the best bass you'll ever "experience" in your HT, providing you have subwoofers that can
survive the punishment.

I Thought my sub wasn't gonna survive the punishment, Great Bass and excellent surround sound

The BEST plane crash type scene for audio on blu ray hands down IMO which is saying a lot as there are some great ones!

If you have a subwoofer that is up to the task, FOTP plane crash will make you smile.

The overall sound is fantastic as well of course, but this is a LFE showpiece IMO.

I used to own the BD, but sold it due to the poor MPEG-2 encode. However, it does feature near reference audio for sure.

The last BD that really wowed me in terms of audio was They Live. I was not expecting such an active mix for a 24 year old film. The musical score in particular sounds dynamic with a very punchy LFE.

As far as recent films go, Prometheus sounded wonderful.
