That's a complaint? You should be happy that it's so solidly built, as everyone else is. Would you prefer a flimsy small machine made out of plastic or what?

It's weight is a complaint???? It only benefits the player in terms of vibration and noise control. You don't have to hold it while watching a movie. The S/N is on the back of the player. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If part of it was made from plastic I would be okay. I would like it to be smaller. Not enough shelf space. Everything looks cluttered. The remote on the other hand is a POS. Looks like something from the 90's. |

So you'd rather have a cheap plastic piece of crap that will fall apart in 6 months than a nice solidly built machine that will last forever? Wow. Now I've heard everything. If your shelf space looks too cluttered, just switch whatever you have now for this beauty. It's not that difficult. This is by far the best machine on the market today. Anything you might need to get rid of to accommodate this one will be definitely worth it, trust me.

There's no need to be sarcastic. If you want to buy a cheaper, inferior machine then go right ahead, it's none of my business. I just wanted to point out that you're making a big mistake. The only thing you really need to get rid of is your current Blu-ray player and replace it with this one. No need to get rid of anything else. Just stack things like everyone else does and there will be no clutter at all. I'm quite sure that this solidly built Sony is way superior to what you might own already and well worth the money.

So I duno if this is the right forum I am on but I have read through all of these posts I also have a x800 hooked up to a sony 43xd8305bu using a sandstorm hdmi cable that is 21gbps which is the gold series. I have had the player and the TV now for about 6 weeks I think and being messing with settings for days and days my problem is when watching hdr 4k bluerays the picture is dark I've tried everything from deep colour on and off with other various settings on even have the picture perfect blueray to calibrate the TV which also has made no difference any ideas would be great thanks.

Hey guys I'm sure this is the wrong place for this post but I am desperate. Currently using my sony x-800 with my Samsung JU7500 in 4K 24f HDR. But about once every couple mins, sometimes 30 mins apart, sometimes 10, i see what appears to be a dropped frame. Now I know this isn't the fault of the player as the same issue occurred with my older 3D blu ray player, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. I have all of the automotion plus settings off. I use the same 3D player on an LG tv with no problems, so it must be the samsung TV but I have no idea why?

I received the X800 this week (region free UK model), tested it only yesterday and unfortunately it will be going back.
The reason is the terrible color banding (mostly during fade to blacks) I encountered when watching 'Batman v Superman'. Note that I have to watch with 1080p/SDR conversion, since I don't have a 4K/HDR projector yet. (Given the current price point and state of 4K/HDR projectors, I also have no intention to change this in the foreseeable future.) I really tried all the settings, the firmware was also the latest, but nothing helped - the banding was always the same. It was very apparent throughout the whole opening sequence of BvS and in several scenes later on during the movie as well. So unless this problem is limited to my projector, which I doubt very much (the player was also connected directly to my projector), I really cannot recommend this player for SDR playback. I'd like to add that every banding issue I ever encountered before (that is when playing blu-rays) was caused by the discs - not by my setup. I didn't notice any banding with another title by Fox, but I also didn't find any scenes with according "soft fades". ("Arrival" would've shown the same problem though, I guess.) At any rate, the region free player was too expensive, to risk being stuck with this problem later on. That's why I decided to send it back right away. Rather disenchanted right now after my first "UHD experience". That is especially since I don't know which player to buy now. The best option for SDR playback currently appears to be a Panasonic player. At least so it seems to me. But I like my players region free ... |

I noticed last night that the home menu doesn't show up when my Sony x850d TV is in enhanced mode. Movies play fine and look great, but the menu acts as if there is no signal present. Works if I turn off enhanced mode on my TV though. I've got the X800 to Marantz 7703 to Sony 850d tv. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi have you tried the x800 just straight to your TV and see if that works. |

It looks like a typically Sony remote. My SOny Speaker bar has a similar remote that is the same size. But you can always use a universal remote instead.

I'd try another HDMI cable, but it's a 40' run with a redmere cabaret that has worked well so far. They're rated at a speed of 18, so it shouldn't be a problem.. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk |

You should get conformation email within several minutes after ordering the movies. Plus about two days later you should get another email stating conformation of shipping with a tracking number.
