If we're understanding you correctly, it sounds like you'll be spending money when you don't have to. Run the video to the TV (X800's primary HDMI Port --> TV) and run the audio to the receiver (X800's Audio Only HDMI Port ---> Receiver)? Lossless audio, no waiting, money saved. The X800 has two ports for precisely this reason. |

Definitely sounds like a three man job. You hold one end of the HDMI cable, get someone else to hold the other end and a third guy to hold it somewhere in the middle. If the cable is longer than 2ft you might need some more guys. Be careful.

Regarding the Dark Knight discs on this player, these are 3 layer 100 Gig. discs aren't they? I experience the same with the first two discs of Futureworld which are 100 Gig discs from Warner. I cleaned the third disc with a microfiber cloth and ammonia (yes, the one for cleaning floors, it's not abrasive and it wipes away any residue, works miracles with greasy/oily dirt) and guess what, the microfibre cloth ended up incredibly dirty with a dark grey residue that obviously came from the disc. Once cleaned the disc played flawlessly, not a single freezing. I did the same with the other two discs, they were also dirty and left the same kind of dark grey residue. I've tested them by playing them while doing other stuff and no freezing. Give it a try, clean your disc before going for a refund, what do you have to loose? |

I installed my unit yesterdsy swapping it in place for my old Sony BPD-S360. Thus unit is heavy and feels solid conveying a sense of quality construction. I watched Blade Runner on BluRay using the 4K upscaling on thhis unit and it works really well. A more detailed review will be coimg out as I use it more .

Or @ the very most, a card that tells us which detergent soap, ammonia, javex whatever to clean the toilet bowl or the kitchen dishes or the dirty laundry, to use and the type of chamois to dry them after a complete rinse. And, they should all include a 4K HDMI cable in the box with the 4K Blu-ray players. ...All of them. That way they would insure the success of the new format and have less returns. I mean there's no use to include a Mickey mouse analog stereo pair of interconnects. Happy New Year! |

early on, this thing was getting great reviews and word of mouth, now, it has swung the other way and so many people are bad mouthing it to no end.
did the players just start all going to hell or something? the only reason I didn't get this is because my first 4K tv is DV compatible and I want a player that supports DV that's why I didn't get this one. but, from the last bunch of pages in this thread, the lack of DV hasn't mattered as much as so many things going wrong with the player. ![]() guess I'm glad I didn't get one. ![]() |
