Does this sound correct? Select HDMI input 1 on my TV to use the player, then select Digital IN on my receiver to get audio?

Should I turn off ARC as well, or change which HDMI input I have the a/v receiver hooked up to.

In the product description on BB's site it says the secondary HDMI can be used to connect to an audio system. When I opened the box, there was a sticker over the second HDMI port. Does this mean the 2nd HDMI only works with audio or could it hypothetically connect to another TV?

From what I've read, HDMI 1 is for audio & video. HDMI 2 is for audio only.

When I got my Vizio UHD Tv it came with an HDMI Cable but it didn't specifically say whether it was 4K ready or not, so since my tv doesn't have HDR will it be ok to use the HDMI that came with the tv or would I still need an HDMI that was made for 4K?

What's the model # of your TV?

It's resolution is a clear indicator if it is 4K or not.

The HDMI cable that was included with your TV should be fine. Manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon, and trying to sell their expensive HDMI cables, claiming they're required for 4K transmitting, but it's not true. Any high speed HDMI cable is suitable for 4K. Here is an article that will surprise you:

I think my X-800 doesn't like 3 layer UHD BD discs much. The only 3 layer discs I have are Pacific Rim and I think but not sure Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. I have 3 more 3 layer discs now which are the ones on Westworld season 1. I've watched the 3 episodes on disc 1 and the player froze once, maybe twice on every episode. I just pushed Stop everytime picture froze then went back to Play, the disc asked to Resume, I pushed OK and the episode resumed right where it froze without issues. I even went forward before the spot where it froze and nothing, no freezing so I doubt it's a manufacturing disc problem. By the way, I'm playing the UK version.

Anyone know if Costco are carrying these or is it cheaper to just buy somewhere else around Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

Yeah, That's like the ads that were telling people they need to get a new HD antenna for over the air HD Digital back when that changeover happened.

The same antenna from 1992 or a coat hanger will work! If your close enough to the transmitter.

Costco doesn’t have any at my local store, and I don’t believe they sell it online either. I would probably buy it at Best Buy when it goes to $149 again. You can also return it sometime around mid January with their extended holiday return policy.

It is not in Costco's holiday/BF ad nor is it on the website and I didn't see any in the store when I went last week. Your best bet is BB. They should have a ton. I don't expect this to be as plentiful in other stores regardless of the same sale price of $149.99.

Should I connect the player to the hdmi input that also has ARC? Then and hdmi Cable from the player to my Samsung a/v receiver?

Also should I select Digital In on my a/v receiver to get audio?

Choices are:
HDMI 1
HDMI 2
Digital In

Do not the HDMI ARC input that's for a different function, unless you prefer to use the ARC input instead...Connection the HDMI Audio Out from the blu-ray player, to the HDMI 1 input, and the HDMI out from the blu-ray to the HDMI in to the TV.
To get audio from your receiver, make sure that you select the correct source that you've connected your blu-ray player to. On your receiver audio setup, select "Auto Mode", then the receiver will automatically decode the audio codec that's encoded on the disc, whether if it's Dolby, DTS or PCM.

Only thing with my Samsung receiver is that it’s also a HTIB. So I don’t haven auto mode on my receiver

If it doesn't have lossless audio, then keep the settings as they are now.

I change it to bitstream (unprocessed). It supports all the HD sound except Dolby atmos. Should I do that instead?

So I would hook up the player to hdmi 1 on my tv (video) then connect the player to my receiver using hdmi 2 from the player (audio).

My a/v receiver is hooked to hdmi 4 (it has the ARC function) on my tv. So would I switch the tv to hdmi 1 or 4 to view movies from the blu-ray player? I’m afraid my receiver would automatically switch it to digital in, and i won’t get the correct audio

Player went back up to $199 on BB. Love this early deal thing, beats going in with all the masses of people next week.

CE3K is indeed a triple layer disc, which I watched without incident on my X800. I did however get some freezing on another triple layer disc, King Kong.
