https://www.itwire.com/reviews/enter...irst-look.html

How many Sony type DV TV's NOW! Err 11 maybe _____ Looking for a DV player.

What Mass Market Segment tends to Buy these Sony LCD TV's. And How much $$$ do they tend to spend on a Blu Ray
Player. Like more near $600 or more like $299??? You know... the Mass of them. Yes likely they have Kids and Likely would enjoy DV Dispicable Me 1&2, even DV Power Rangers. How will Sony make these Families HAPPY. Whats the Candy thats missing

Kids don't care at all about Dolby Vision. They are fine watching SD quality videos on phones/tablets.

Sony is So Sweet. Lets see what other future Sugar will surprise us.
The DV firmware update for those Sony TV s is not expected until late Summer at the earliest.

The price on this unit dropped about $30 today on Bestbuy.com and Amazon.com, $269.99 and $268.00 respectively. Still have a couple of weeks on the free movies too. I finally grabbed one.

I noticed the price drop as well. Still on the fence about it, but I would really like to see what my LG B6 OLED can do.

You won't be able to with this particular player unless it gets a Dolby Vision upgrade.

Otherwise, it's the Oppo 203 for you.

The DV love fest. Do you even realize the 2016 OLED's can be properly calibrated in HDR10 mode, and have zero advanced options for DV mode? If anyone cares about accuracy of the image, I could argue with you for awhile on why DV isn't a good choice unless you have a 2017 OLED.

The same applied to 2015 OLED's, they did not have advanced calibration options for HDR10 mode, and SUCKED compared to a calibrated 2016. I know, I owned both.

HDR10 on my calibrated E6, from the X1000, looks outstanding.

I have the X800 with an LG B6. I'm thoroughly enjoying its capabilities.

I would like to get the Oppo, I just can't justify the $300 price difference.

Oh there is plenty of misguided love going around, people have convinced themselves DV will be better no matter the situation.

And I am enjoying them, quality UHD streaming, some with HDR, and I can play every UHD disc without any blips or hangs (so far). Kinda not how it is going for 203 folks still, just noting the John Wick 2 complaints at AVS LOL. Also at 6 months and the HDMI In is still faulty, but hey at least it has DV!

Is there a list of the current free 4k discs somewhere? Also, do the free discs have to be redeemed by 6/30, or do you just have to buy by 6/30?

You have to register and use the code by 6/30, otherwise your promo code will expire.

Movies I remember from about 2 weeks ago:
Da Vinchi Code
Angels and Demons
Inferno
Sausage Party
The Shallows
Resident Evil
Angry Birds
New Ghostbusters
Salt
The 5th Wave
Chappie
Amazing Spider-Man 2

I got Angels and Demons and Shallows. Even though I had to contact support to get them as the website wouldn't let me order.

Have new releases by Sony been added to the free disc list since the promotion began? Where can you find a complete list?

Only way to find a complete current list is to log in the promo site with a code.

Yes, they've added some newer stuff. The resident evil final chapter, and underworld blood wars movies are pretty new, and it seems the list changes a little over time. Passengers and magnificent seven were also still on there last night when I used my code.

Sony has been great about adding new released on that list. This best deal for this outside of black friday, might be for this week before the promo ends on 6/30, at $269

I was in the same boat, ended up going with the X800 after the Sony rep at BB assured me that DV would be patched into the X800. I'm expecting to learn that they lied to my face, rather than getting my hopes up, but we shall see. Makes no sense to release DV discs and not have a Sony player support them.

Planet Earth 2 looks amazing on my C6, your B6 will thank you.
