Sorry for the last-minute (hour) notification, moving forward there is another webinar tomorrow, on sound, so I’ll quote you in the HDR thread on AVS so you get an immediate email heads-up and not miss out if you (or others) are interested –

I'm very much someone who revels in revisionism until he finds something that doesn't suit his taste (revised audio is by FAR a bigger annoyance for me than revised video, as one could argue that video transfers of all flavours are revisionist by default vs a 14fL theatrical projection in 12-bit XYZ space, or indeed that funny film stuff), but personally I think it's just as arrogant to speak for x long-dead filmmaker and say that they would have wanted to use y system.

Much appreciated sir! I have this thread on a "daily email" update thingy, so that's why I was too late.

A true SME in that part of the business. For quite a while, I’ve followed David’s work, e.g.

and cited him over the years in this and other threads, mostly in relation to HDMI, whose information has been verified by others months later, e.g. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...i#post13576062

As to the upcoming webinar, he relates he’ll be “covering things like direct streaming vs AV distribution, HDBaseT vs AV-over-IP, AV extension with compressed vs uncompressed, especially for features like HDR, and the opportunities with HDBaseT 3.0 and HDMI 2.1
