I must say that I was really impressed with the de-aging of Furlong and Hamilon in the first scene. Great stuff.

Yeah it's pretty impressive except for the glaring digital sheen on Hamilton's face which makes it look all shiny.

I actually found him legitimately terrifying. By far my favourite performance in the film.

I got a serious Robert Patrick vibe of him.
Yes I thought he was brilliant too, perfect performance.

Hamilton looked amazing, so did Arnie. Furlong looked like a cartoon but I guess it was only two brief shots.

I think Arnie looked the best imo. It's crazy how much he looked like his younger 90's self.

So now you're using something mentioned in an interview that no-one would've ever noticed as yet another stick to beat its internal logic to death with? Mein gott. I almost have to admire such dedication. Almost.

Linda looked great, I didn't mind the couple of shots of Eddie as much as some folks did but yeah, that Arnie one was mind-blowing. His body shape isn't quite right, them using Brett Azar as they did (he looks a bit stocky, lol), but they absolutely nailed the face. I know that the young CG Arnie in Genisys also got a lot of wows from some folks but it always looked too false and too plasticky to me, this one here though is fookin' amazing.

The very first shot of Linda was perfect but Furlong and Linda both had that shiny telltale look after that. Arnold looked probably more polished though overall. The techs getting better for sure but it's still a ways off yet to being perfect.

Not at all. It's something brought up in an interview which is in the movie, but was only brought to my attention via that interview. I decided to address it to leave no stone unturned. It practically beats itself to death, I'm merely trying to understand it. Thanks for admiring my thoughts.

Is it actually Furlong? I could've sworn that I read that they used a double.

The effects in the movie were decent, but not when it came to young Carl or the Rev-9, IMO.

I found a lot of the non de-aging CGI really disappointing. Mainly the terminator stuff.

They look like they haven't been rendered properly. Very flat and cartoony.

When CGI from 1991 looks better, than we know that we have a problem.

The reason i say Carl was better is because they had a lot more reference points to pull for Arnie with his 90s movies. Linda didn't have as much and neither did Furlong which is why i think he looks better

It's a kid as the double, Furlong is just the reference.

I probably should take a longer look at young Carl but he really looked off to me compared to Sarah/John.

Have to agree. Though I think they nailed young Sarah and John, young Carl didn't look anything like Arnold IMO. Even Terminator Salvation did a better job of making a terminator look like Arnold. Even Genisys, as much as it sucks, still gets young Arnold looking good.

Not to me at least. The face looked a lot like him in the beginning of Kindergarten Cop before he goes undercover clean cut and the body was apparently a double just like the Furlong scene had a kid used but the body double which i believe were posted in the very original thread earlier on has a physique close to Predator type Arnold.

To me, i honestly felt all of them were passable but you could tell for sure. Bar one shot right at the start on Linda to me.

Thinking back on it I agree, he was arguably the best part.

I have no desire to see this. After T2, all the Terminator sequels have been trash.

Save your money, brother. You've already seen this movie done better with T1 & T2.
