Same trailers here. People were audibly annoyed at the number of trailers by the time we got to Smile.

Spoiler free reaction.

What to say? Top Gun: Maverick is everything you go to the cinema for. I've seen lots of other films over the past decade outside of the MCU but this was quite the refresher. It took me back in time to the 90s/early 2000s when summer used to kick off a myriad of blockbusters. It does sometimes rely on the nostalgia factor but it's never cheesy or overdone and despite what many will see as just a repeat of the first film, I see it as a reflection. They knew what Top Gun fans wanted and they delivered it so perfectly you'll be grinning the whole time. The action sequences are just breathtaking and with the very minimal use of CGI, instead relying on special practical effects done in camera, it will leave your jaw on the floor. This is one of most well shot films I've ever seen. Almost like Malick with a hint of very restrained Michael Bay. The Cruiser gives one of his best performances and the chemistry between the entire cast is damn near flawless. I don't care for Miles Teller all that much but even he won me over before the credits rolled. This deserves to be seen on the biggest and loudest screen you can find. Top Gun: Maverick gets an easy 9/10 from me. Superb entertainment through and through.

Being more into cameras and imagery, I really haven’t posted much about the sound of the movie except for an early tease from January – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...y#post19788710

and earlier this month including some pics and description from the global premiere in downtown San Diego at - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post20085639

So, for a bit more on the sound and how much better hearing it in Dolby Atmos is, than not, some more insight and a “secret” Joe got from Chris - https://www.inputmag.com/reviews/top...w-sound-design

I never go into my theater until 20 minutes after the start time, and even then it’s still another 5-7 minutes before the movie starts a lot of times.

Once the internet had all the trailers I stopped caring about seeing them in theaters. It’s so much nicer not having to sit there for nearly a half hour before it starts

Two viewings now.

A lot of people seem to point at the romance as a weak point but as brief as it is, I think the chemistry is great between Cruise and Connelly. I buy their history more than what we get in most most rom coms and never thought "can we get back to the flying" when those scenes happen.

How hard is it to spoiler tag? Even people who haven't seen it would know what you're talking about. Lazy ass.

Maybe they had already shot the football scene. They would have had to reshot the whole thing with Slider in every shot.
