It would be nice to see him be a part of this. It's hard to have Top Gun without Maverick's nemesis turned wing-man any time.

All they would have to do is have him in his flight gear for a cockpit scene or two...it would hide the aging and size easily that way.

Hopefully his overall health has improved.

That Twitter pic of him doesn't look very good though. I wonder if they'd keep him from getting involved if he doesn't have that "hunk" look about him anymore. Perhaps they can incorporate him using story details which relate to some type of disease/condition that affects pilots in such a way that could explain his degredation in physical appearance/stature?

The original was lightning in a bottle imo. It perfectly captured the mood and look of the 80s, the soundtrack was pure magic and the cast was a perfect fit all around. 80s action cinema at its best. I don't think a sequel can be as good as the original.

Well, to be honest, I'm not interested in a Top Gun 2. It's a typical 80s movie in every possible aspect. That simply doesn't work today. So they will have to go for a modern tone and everyone will complain it just ain't the same. Can see the thread reactions / discussions already.

Well, if you Read the story, you'd see (or know already maybe?), that he's had some health issues recently (reportedly Cancer but not confirmed by Him), so yea, he's not going to look Great, right?

Esp after THIRTY+ Years later...
