Simple movie comprehension skills is hard for some people too…

It never shows how he was ejected from the ship. We don’t nt know what safe guards were used. Also, he comments on another plot point with the missiles. The movie explained why they did not bomb them first.

Who is this guy? Is he supposed to be super intelligent or something?

Famous astrophysicist/astronomer that never misses a chance of teaching science stuff to the larger public using movies.

I know he has a bit of a "you must be really fun at parties" vibe, but in the end Top Gun has always been largely bullshit with some sprinkles of real life things on top on all levels and it's always interesting learning exactly what is bullshit and what isn't.

Like, if you watch some commentaries by real fighter pilots the main gist is that while there are some details right most of it is still at the very least a bit of a stretch and not always in a very obvious way.

Personally as a non-expert that dabbled lightly in flightsim (though I'm primarily a spacesimmer) and owns a HOTAS set the only thing I noticed is the obviously American stick (F-16 and A-10c to be precise) of the Russian planes, and that only because I shopped for a new joystick last year and while reading/watching reviews many commented on which aircraft each joystick was based on if they weren't generic designs.

The Blu-Ray release is two weeks from tomorrow, and I'm super-stoked for it. This was easily my favorite movie of the entire summer.

This gong to be the Blu (4K) of the year. Time flies, only two weeks, ...and still top 10 in theaters after 144 days.

My response would be to just steer clear of it. You don't want to get punched or worse over such a trivial issue.

NdGT is basically Bill Nye the Science Guy for people who grew up with Bill Nye.

He's famous for making these sort of semi-scientific positions/hot takes on a variety of subjects, however he is fairly frequently factually incorrect in them. One of my favorite examples of that was when he claimed there are no penguins north of the equator. However, I suspect he might be deliberately incorrect because that generates additional buzz.

He's also famous as being the "Patron Saint" of modern atheism, and he received a plug via a cameo on The Big Bang Theory tv show where he was lambasted for his defense of Pluto not being a planet.

On the film, however, it was strange that they stressed stealth for their attack, and that bombs were out of the question, but then they commence their attack by bombing (missile striking) the nearby airfield.

I believe Maverick notes, while examining the details during his first meeting, that the crater is protected by radar jamming, rendering missiles out of the question. The airfield, however, is somewhere else in a much more open area and not protected in the same way.

Box Office Mojo accept accurate contributions. It's normal to see small mistakes once in a while.

Down to 691 theaters. My best guess: Good up to December 15, just before Avatar 2.
Squeeze all the juice out of Maverick...and why not.

Ukraine Top Gun: Maverick

Maverick 4K UHD Dolby Vision/Atmos IMAX aspect ratio (half) Blu-ray is just one week from being released to the general public in North America. Time flies.
Paramount as their new rule only provides the 4K disc (no regular Blu-ray included in the package; it's a solo affair). As everyone knows by now the reviews for the 4K disc are stellar...the usual suspects (disc reviewers).

The question I asked myself is: How much more money could it make in theaters after the 4K disc (and separate Blu-ray disc) release in North America, and across the universe?
It don't really matter as it's only a question for the record books.
One way or another it's a winning game today and tomorrow. I'm talking numbers ($$$) here, not just how fun is the film for all senses.

Anyhow, Maverick is a $1.485 billion flick worldwide by Thursday.
And, a $716.5 million flick domestic by Thursday as well. Not too shabby for a winning recipe. Avatar 2 is gong to need a lot of vitamins A, B, C, D and E to approach Maverick flying @ supersonic speed into the stratosphere of box office numbers ($$$) ... god lock.

I wonder (just a little tiny bit) if Maverick will keep playing in theaters till December 15, because if it does (even till December 1st) it will most likely climb couple more ranks in the movie statistics (annals), both domestic and international.

Halloween should be fun this year, up to a safe flying zone.
