I usually spend over $100 each year on Hallmark Christmas ornaments from my favorite TV shows and films but this year there is nothing I want. I guess my wallet should be happy.

You know...I actually think the idea of all the extra stuff that goes into perfecting your craft is really cool. For tennis, the on court stuff as well as all of the off court stuff where you're not holding a racquet. Foot work, conditioning. I do love working out. It's been years since I've had a gym membership or worked out but I really like doing so.

I had never really watched the Olympics before but I did catch some back in 2016 when it was in Rio and thought how awesome it would be to be an Olympic athlete and getting ready, training hard for the next Olympics four years away. My thing is that I'm just afraid of investing too much when I don't know if my hard work will pay off.

I wish I would have tried tennis. I would gravitate toward what my friends were playing and I guess I didn't have any tennis friends. I watch the 4 grand slams and it looks like a fun game I would have liked. I wonder who will win the upcoming US open? No Djokovic so it's hard to pick a favorite.

The more I think about it, playing basketball in my driveway almost every day when I was 12-20 and going over to friends' houses and playing with them, those were probably the best times I've ever had. Especially during NBA playoffs where we would play outside and watch the games all day. That would be my Field Of Dreams if I could go back in time and play a game again.

The other thing that I like so much about tennis is that it's an international sport played on six continents. I love traveling so I'd love to be able to play all over the world.

I'm a big Federer fan so I'm not too disappointed that Djokovic isn't being allowed into the country. I wish they'd ban Nadal from entering as well I couldn't predict who will win this year but Carlos Alcaraz is really making a name for himself. I like Tsitsipas as well and it's hard to imagine him not winning a Grand Slam someday.
I'm not a big Kyrgios fan but it will be interesting to see how he does.

Speaking of tennis and traveling, how about this scenery here? This is a resort called Stanglwirt in Austria

Why do people take an escalator if they're in a hurry? Escalators are for people who have difficulty walking/climbing stairs. I hate when people barrel past others and seem annoyed that they're "in the way". In a hurry? Take the stairs!!

You answered your own question: It's quicker to use an escalator.

Wondering how many catalog releases/announcements we'll get before the end of the year. It has been crazy!

How about some new player announcements considering physical media is alive and well!

Such a good ****ing song. I had heard it a few times and just assumed that it was a country singer. I'm driving around one day and I hear the DJ say that it's Lady Gaga and I was shocked. Her voice and the sample of Queen's We Will Rock You

There's only three men that I'ma serve my whole life
It's my daddy and Nebraska and Jesus Christ
Something, something about the chase (six whole years)
I'm a New York woman, born to run you down
So have my lipstick all over your face
Something, something about just knowing when it's right

I’ll be going home after all.

Thinking that was probably the last time I’ll see the Scorpions in concert.

My biggest regret is that I rocked down to electric avenue, but never took it higher. It haunts me.

Then do it. You can go out in the street. Out in the street. Out in the playground in the dark side of town.

I spent the weekend nursing a headache that wouldn't go away. Slight fever. Thinking I may have had Covid but I did some reading about headaches and something caught my eye: caffeine withdrawal. I'm a coffee fiend but that weekend I didn't have my usual number of servings. Made myself a cup, took acetaminophen and voila! Good as new after a cool shower. Covid or caffeine withdrawal? I go with the latter. Does this mean if I stop drinking coffee I'm going to have perpetual headaches?

People like what they like and that's fine, but I find it so interesting how fired up people get on this site about the artwork on physical media packaging. Like for some, it's enough to pass on an otherwise fine disc. I mean, who really GAF once the disc is in the player and displaying on one's TV? I'll never understand it.

Once the disc is in the player, there are a lot of people here who get angry about how the menus look.

I'm with you on the artwork and don't care about menus. I just want to watch the movie. I don't admire artwork for the disc or sit at the menu screen any longer than it takes to make sure my preferred audio option is chosen and then hitting play movie.

I get it's all considered a "package," but isn't that ultimately what it's all about?!

Going to 5 movies at the theatre on Saturday and then doing a shadow 9-9 shift on Sunday with a client I've never met before. I certainly (at least in my mind) have been exposed to a huge number of clients since I started being a DSP on May 7th. Hoping by the time I move to the midwest(still planning for this to happen next May) I'll be working as a case worker/manager and not a DSP anymore.
