Like my job. I’m wondering what game the store manager is playing. Between the passive aggressive note on the door and the lack of communication I’m about to lose my mind. It doesn’t help that he called an old employee (she got promoted to the same position I hold and moved to another store), who was visiting her boyfriend and he asked if she could come in. Why the **** are you contacting someone you blew out for the same crap you are pulling on me and why the **** would they say yes

You have made it clear that you are getting a divorce on a public forum. Yet you do not want to share the details. That is puzzling to me. Either share the story in whole or don't bring up a topic that we only know a 1/4 of the story.

Yes, this is a public forum, but the specific details of our divorce aren’t anyone’s business but her and I’s. Shit happens, multiple people get divorced on a daily basis. Oh, and to be fair. I’ve discussed my marriage issues in multiple threads. So at least half of the story is out there

It's true that you have shared your difficulties and we've tried to help. Obviously, the marriage couldn't be saved. We don't necessarily know the whole story and that's none of our business.

I have mentioned it before, as have others, and my last word on the subject is, now that you've got things worked out, sit down with your soon to be ex-wife and write down and sign what you've both agreed to and make sure you each have a copy. No lawyers but there's at least something written down for the protection of your entire family.

Good luck making the adjustments. They can be difficult but it sounds like it's the best decision for everybody involved.

I had an aunt and uncle that had two kids and then got divorced. They're still great friends to this day. When she lost her second husband to cancer, he was there to support her. Turns out they're better as friends.

Starting to get real ansty about moving out of our area. Every time I turn around the wife is showing me yet another Facebook post from the local government about approving yet another huge parcel of land for mixed use residential and commercial building, etc. It seems the plan is to jam up every single square inch of this once beautiful area with shit and then take their sweet ass time improving the infrastructure to be able to support one of the fastest growing counties in the US. I know the school are fantastic, but I can't imagine wanting to move to a place that's getting too big for its britches and yet people flock here from all over. Granted me and my family did too, but that was in 1996 and where we moved (and where we all still currently reside) was considered "the sticks." Now it's a mini thriving yet clusterphuck of a metropolis. No thanks. Enjoy sitting in soul crushing traffic to complete the most menial of errands...I'm moving out further west to wide open spaces, trees and some breathing room.

So the wife bought me Willy's all natural salsa. As I do loves to try me some new salsa. Well now every time I open the fridge I see the Willy's and immediately start singing The Sweet's, "Little Willy, Willy, won't go home. You can't make Willy go, Willy won't go..." I'll open the fridge door and be singing that song for a good hour. Walking around the house singing it my kids now are like, that's a catchy song, Dad. It's by The Sweet, I tell them. They have several more good songs too. Let me get the CD and we can give it a spin... I got the look like what is this dinosaur talking about. It's ok, Dad, they said. We'll just get it from Spotify. I was like, well yeah, that's what I meant when I said CD. C'mon, try and keep up.

"Mixed use residential" is just another way of saying "Luxury Housing". Your area has been targeted for gentrification. I'd be very concerned if I were you.

Aside from increased traffic and pollution, there are much bigger problems to worry about: rising property values, taxes, and, worst of all, more homelessness as a direct result of skyrocketing rents. Trust me, I know - I've seen it happen. Hell, I've lived it. I had to move to a crime-ridden neighborhood to be able to still afford rent. And the problem lies with local governments practically giving away land to developers so they can build condos to satiate a seemingly endless appetite for high end housing. Nobody cares about affordable housing for the working class. It's like suddenly there are a whole lot more 1 percenters who are in the market for ironic living in rundown neighborhoods. So get ready.

Oh I am VERY concerned and VERY ready...we're building a new home and in the spring are moving 45 minutes west to an underdeveloped part of GA where they're at least 10-15 years out from getting invaded by folks fleeing my soon-to-be former area.

But yes, you are (unfortunately) all too correct. The developers see all of this untouched land, come in with big money offers to families that have held onto it for generations, buy them out, the families cash out and then the developers build these monstrosities. The local building owners then see what's going on and jack the rent up on local businesses to where they can't afford it, they vacate and then the building owners rent to higher end restaurants that have to charge $15 for a burger to make the rent. ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND repeat.

that's why if anyone has the means, they should start buying property....and a lot of it. buy some property and build a house. then start buying the adjoining properties so no one else can build anything on it.

one site i'm on there's a few people who have done that. they bought some property (think 50+ acres) and built a house. and when their neighbors decided to sell/move, THEY bought the property so no one else would and build something they didn't want.

hell, i'd love to have about 1000 acres with a small lake or pond on it to go fishing. and that's plenty of land to do some hunting....and also build my private range.

Why not work to better yourself so that you can live in these nicer areas? I mean, no one should be forced to live in a crime-ridden area like you have. No one forced you to live in a crime-ridden area either. There is always a way out. More education, a new job, marriage, etc. You have options.

Yep, when I get settled in the new place and start getting used to the finances for a few years, I'd like to start looking for land in Blue Ridge, GA for my eventual retirement cabin on a creek or river. That'll give us a place to "get away" for the weekend as we get older and it'll appreciate over time and we can always rent it out if need be.

blue ridge....VERY nice. i just looked up some pics. that looks like a place in which i could spend a lot of time and be quite happy.

there's a few places like that around here (minus the mountains) that i'd like to move to. i want out of this county so bad. the county to the southeast of here and the one to the southwest of here are both much nicer counties than the one in which i currently live. i have family/friends in both so it'd be nice to a little bit closer (although i'm not THAT far, as it is). but the taxes and utilities in this county are downright stupid. they're much better in the other 2. plus there's more land for sale in those 2 than in my current one; and it's cheaper.

Indeed. It's a quaint mountain town with some small local craft breweries, good restaurants and beautiful rivers, creeks and streams. We actually got married there (here in fact: https://www.vrbo.com/1512640).
