OT: My side job as a mobile mechanic business has officially hit an all time low. Sadly it's more-or-less a seasonal gig,so I may have to go back to working double time at my full-time job this winter

Like Mike said, I work four weeks on, then four weeks off.
I was off for five cause I was in close contact with someone who tested positive and I had to wait for a negative test and two weeks quarantine.

I've seen my share of "problem posters" during my 8 years on these message boards but this person takes the cake. Over on the North American Blu-ray forums there's this guy (or gal) who has opened dozens of sock accounts in less than a year. He gets banned then turns around and opens another account - sometimes 2 - the same day! Some of us have speculated that he's autistic or has Asperger's - whatever the reason it's annoying as heck because all he does is post wishlists.

could be more. Sounds like maybe a little Bi Polar but then having both BP and Aspergers I don't bother with multiple accounts. but each person is different.

OT scheduled finally to fix a problem that Ford sent a recall about. will be using the dealer to come and pick the car up and do the service tomorrow. there shouldn't be any problems but I always worry there might be anyway.

It is most certainly a guy.

In fact, in my 11 years here (5 as a moderator), I can only think of eight actual females who have posted here. I am sure there are a few more, but not many. You are more likely to find males posting as females here than the real thing.

The most infamous case was that lady who's posts were super long-winded and incoherent at times. She admitted that she wrote the same way she speaks. A literal translation of everyday conversations!

Might be a good opportunity for me to wonder why there are few females. Is it the gatekeeping aspect of the Internet?

Based on a quick Internet search it looks like moviegoers are fairly evenly split male/female. Netflix viewers are even. I couldn't find anything for DVD buyers, though for comic books in 2017 it looks like a 63/37 male/female split which, based on my stereotype of male comic book fans, seems like an overperformance for females.

So---are there few open females on this forum because there are in fact fewer females here, or are they just quiet on their gender?

I’m getting promos from two different celll providers for the new iPhone and it’s sooo tempting.
I want it and my contract was finished last month, but I don’t use my phone to it’s full capability so I feel it would be a waste to upgrade.
