And to answer your question, I'll be doing some minor upgrades and repairs on my vehicle.
I need new headlight bulbs, sparkplugs, coil pack, cables, maybe a new starter and an oil change, fuel, air and gas filters to be replaced and maybe the shocks/struts in the front end.

Maybe a hand gun.

All told, maybe $500 left over, which gets saved.

This happens when the IRS does not have updated banking information for the recipient.

One example is if you were going to get a refund last year but opted for a paper check instead of direct deposit, the IRS wouldn't have your bank information to direct deposit the stimulus. They would mail your stimulus in this case.

its direct deposit but I was looking it up by new address and it was by the old one. If I filed earlier perhaps it would have been using the new address.

The bank account I had used on my 2019 tax refunds was used for the first stimulus.

Between first and second stimulus payments, I closed that bank account.

For the second stimulus, the IRS initially tried to direct deposit the funds into that account, which would eventually be returned from the bank and then later a physical check was issued.

My 2020 taxes have yet to be processed, so my banking info that the IRS has on file is still incorrect. According to their "Where's my Payment?", the 3rd stimulus is set for direct deposit into...... the closed account.

Could have just issued a check and gotten it faster to me...

I wonder when the stimulus is suppose to get into the account. I've checked twice but of course the bank isn't open so maybe that something to do with it?

Mine was due today and I already got it, already moved the funds into my new Fidelity accounts that I wanted to move.

Tentative orders in place to add to my 2 mutual funds portfolios and my 2 401ks I hadn't touched yet. Don't really find 401ks that appealing due to slow growth but slow growth can be better than nothing at all and it'd still beat bank account growth.

I've had to wait for checks for each of my previous payments. My tax preparer is old and didn't like efile/DD. Now I can't even log onto my IRS account for some reason.
