What's on my mind? I was thinking I might need to order the complete series of The Wire. I've never seen a single episode but I'd be interested in checking it out. You know motorcycles are on my mind. I was just reading the replies to a thread I created yesterday. I was kind of looking for reassurance on getting a new bike. Near $20K is a lot to spend on a bike that doesn't get ridden.
Tonight will be my Friday night. Could have had the extra night off since this would be my New Year's holiday. Working it though so I'll get 8 hours of paid holiday leave and then my normal 8-hour shift which will include night differential and Sunday premium. January is also a three paycheck month for us so I'm happy about that. I don't think I'll be able to quite save $3,000 in January but I'll come close. I do have my $445 registration to pay and I want to knock more of my credit card balance down. I'm at about $1,500 right now so not too high. Don't think I'm paying interest yet. Anyway, sorry to bore you. I'm lying. I'm not sorry actually ![]() |

I had the opposite problem these past 3 months, I gained a bit of weight. I'm not sure if it's psychological but I kind of went crazy with all of the deals and didn't cook at home as much. I may even dumbphone my smartphone by uninstalling the fast food/fast casual food apps. (That's an extreme measure, if I did it. Kind of like avoiding the cookie aisle at the grocery store.) For now I'm just going back to cooking at home much more often. And I'm getting back into a groove by going with oatmeal and berries in the morning, with meat + veggies at dinner. New Year's is for the dreamers like me.... |

So my Costco & Sam’s Club memberships ended this month. I’m trying to decide which one I should go with as they both have deals right now.
Costco- $65 for the year + $45 gift card Sam’s - $25 for the year Pros & Cons -Sam’s is closer for me and I actually have two in the area (less than an hour) -The closest Costco is 1hr40mins so I won’t get out there as much. I also have to pay a bridge toll in NJ. There’s also a Trader Joe’s in the area so I tend to hit both. The Costco in PA is a 2 hour drive Sam’s is better tech wise. Great website with real time inventory plus they have scan and go which can save you time or you can opt for curbside pickup. Costco wins in the food court area and they have some killer sundaes. I also prefer their pizza. Sam’s pizza is too generic but still completely fine if you’re in a pinch. Costco wins in the fresh category. They have excellent meals ready to go which take minimal prep time. I particularly enjoy the meatloaf, stuffed bell peppers, chili, shrimp salad, kebabs, chicken salad, chicken noodle soup, ribs, and wings. -none of my Costco locations sell sushi, but Sam’s does. Yes, I like sushi. ![]() -Costco tend to carry premium brands such as Apple, LG & Samsung |

I can't remember where I first heard Cold War Kids' First but I really like the song. It's the last song that I played on my iPhone so whenever I get into my car, it starts playing through the speakers. I don't really know what the song is about but I like it a lot.
