If you want the absolute cheapest good quality watch you could also consider the F-91W (also made by Casio). Not as robust as a G-shock but will still get the job done and easily replaced if it gets damaged/lost/stolen. The only real drawbacks are that it's not truly waterproof (don't go swimming or shower with it) and the light is AWFUL.
Buying a watch is a low priority for me. If my watch still works, I really don’t see a need to get another one.

I remember trying to change the battery for my Fossil and I ended up breaking it. Sucks because I had that watch for over 10 years and it was my favorite.

It means the different shipping companies are showing different statuses for the order.

G-Shock used to be my watch of choice. They took a beating and still kept going. Unfortunately the quality has dropped over the years. My last 2 premium models (with the analog face) both died within a couple of years, and other than the gym I haven't been as active as I used to be with said watches. I otherwise beat the hell out of the prior ones I owned and they never flinched. After the last one died, I made the jump to a smart watch and just put them in a protective g-shock style watch band/case.

Watch repair kits are available, but yeah opening up a g-shock is risky. If you break the seal, it'll also lose the water-proof capability. I used to work in jewelry back during college so I have some experience with battery replacements. I did my own g-shock (the old school divers model with the yellow face) and it didn't seal correctly, and one day after a day of surfing water got inside the watch. The analog part still worked, but the digital display portion was dead in the water .

And it takes a while to update in the USPS system. They've gotten better, but some time ago it was so slow to update that more than a few times I actually had a shipment arrive before the status on the USPS web site changed to Shipped.

Last night was the second in a row where I suffered some kind of anxiety attack that kept me awake most of the night. Had to turn the lights on because darkness felt suffocating. I spent the weekend at a family member's house so the unfamiliarity could've been a factor but I was HOME last night. Tossing and turning, kept getting up. Tried to watch some of those Youtube rain and thunder videos that usually put me to sleep and nada. I think the summer heat is also a factor (I have A/C). Don't know what's going on. My mild tinnitus doesn't help.

I should have gotten a fountain soda at the Shell station before I left town and headed to my "camping" spot. I have plenty of water but it's not the same as soda.

Switching my training plan for October from the Kansas 40 miler to the Mankato Marathon. Definitely not attempting a 40 mile race this year after DNFing Afton 1 loop into the race.

How funny is that. I saw Independence Day on the big screen on the 4th. Was such a blast. I didn't have to pay for it either. My friend who works at the arthouse showing Independence Day got me in for free.

I love watches and I miss mine. I need to go get it fixed, but I keep forgetting to. The band broke again. And this is a Citizen Watch. Paid about $400 for it. Well I didn't. My oldest sister did. It was my 50th birthday present.

Yes. Just VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY slowly.

You might have a little trouble with that if you're looking to buy it on Cd. Or something like that. As I believe it is out of print. I could look at McKay's for you though. If I find a copy I could then mail it to you.

Hey fight, I haven’t checked for the CD but I should be okay with or without it. Thanks for the offer though

The Sundays did a pretty damn good job with Wild Horses but so did The Rolling Stones whose version is playing right now.

Tomorrow morning at 7 AM I leave for my 55th medical appointment of the year. I am having my third Nerve Conduction Study and Electromyography test; the former tests for nerve damage, or disease, while the latter tests if the muscles respond correctly to nerve signals. Lots of needles and electrodes are involved. The tests will last about an hour and they are intensely painful, like 8 out of 10 bad.

These tests are part of the requirements for my participation in the monoclonal anti-body drug trial and because I am also diagnosed with the peripheral neuropathy version of hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis due to my having small fiber neuropathy and amyloid deposition in my skin. I have amyloid all over and far beyond just my heart.

Thursday I head right back to St. Louis for an echocardiogram, 6 minute walk test, a bunch of "how do I feel" surveys and finally my experimental drug infusion. It will be a 7 hour day plus 4 hours roundtrip travel time for 11 hours total.

I get no break on Friday, either, as I have an hour of cardiac rehab to do at a local hospital. Today, Tuesday, was my only day this week with no visits to a hospital.

Yes, they do. The Sundays are quite lovely and wonderful. They got a bit of notoriety from that song being in a Budweiser commercial and in the movie Fear.

I have one for my home office, but I'm no expert on the subject. That said, at minimum you'll need to know how much overall power your connected device(s) will draw, and also your purpose to determine how much time you'll need. It'd be helpful to have some kind of power usage monitor to plug your devices into and see how much power they draw, to help you decide. You'll want something that exceeds the power draw by at least 25%, possibly more depending on your purpose and how much time you need.

If your usage is computer based, probably would also be a good idea to ask in the PC Gaming forum. Or might be a good idea to ask in there regardless.

It's safety and common courtesy as a driver and yet a lot of folks don't do it and a lot of them end up in or cause accidents.

I lived in the heart of Silicon Valley during college back in the 90s just before the big tech boom. Having grown up in Southern CA with all the crazies, people back then were comparably "nice" up North, to the point they'll chit chat with you and ask you how you're doing while in line at the grocery store or at the gas station pumping gas. You do that in Southern CA at a gas station back then, people look at you crazy and you run the risk of getting maced lol.

So when my buddy moved up there for a lucrative position with eBay, which was just after the initial tech boom around '97, I remember telling him how cool the people were and that they actually slow down for you when you turn on your blinker. I don't think it was more than a week after he moved that he called me to say, "I don't know what the he!! you're talking about, these people drive like a-holes! And they speed up when you turn on your blinker!"

Evidently the wacko Southern Californians made it up there as part of the tech job boom and ruined everything lol.
