seems like it but the person seems to be different every other day so there was a time there was problems but I thought maybe this was going to be one but I didn't at the time think they may have Informed Delivery as well and maybe it was put it by mistake in the wrong account or something.

Take heed if you plan on picking up Master and Commander.

FOMO got me good this time around but I would’ve been fine with a standard edition.

-PQ fluctuates and the bitrate hovers around 50. At nearly 2.5 hrs, it’s a sin this was thrown on a 66 gig disc.
-The audio is rather dull and I had to crank up the volume.
-No special features

We do have grain and this is likely the best it will ever look. Sadly not a demo-worthy disc.

Damn, sucks to hear, but the only reason why I always hold off on opening my pre-order copies.

Not a bad system. I don’t want to be the one who persuades you to return it.

Do a bit more research and decide for yourself. If we were guaranteed a standard release at some point, then I’d say wait for that and save a few bucks.

At least it’s not DNR’d to death. This is just a lazy release where the Blu-ray track bests the Atmos one and that is just nonsense.

Watched my copy last. The PQ isn't that bad. Yes, the DV is subtle but it's working in the background providing some nice contrast. Never was a film that was going to melt your eyes with the specular highlights pop.

Funny you mention the bitrate. I checked it a few times last night and I think the highest I saw it was around 60ish. That's pretty low. The Mouse really cheaped out here.

For audio I had to turn up the MV a bit. Once I did that the soundtrack opened up. Good use of the surrounds creating a ship worthy atmosphere. There is some bass, but it's not the rib cracking kind you want in a film like this. When the cannons fired I wanted my ribs to crack. Lol.

I do agree with your last sentence. The Mouse did not abide.

Subtle is a good takeaway. As you said, this was never gonna be a beauty considering how bleak it is at times.

I would just advise: to make sure you’ve got your sea legs ‘cause this is one inconsistent voyage. It can look great at times, really great…and then absolute dogshit. To really get anything good audio-wise, I have to crank my receiver to 70 which ain’t normal lol. Oh, Disnee, how you honor thee.

I want to try this. Both Target and Walmart are sold out. I can get free shipping from Target with a $35 order. I might have to find a bunch of random stuff to order.

Trust me, if they announced the standard edition alongside the steelbook, I'd have already opened it by now, but given the uncertainty of an SE and the price tag, I might hold out until the last possible date to return it.

True, but I'm with you on the Dolby Atmos crap, it's not always better especially when it's handled by the House of Mouse.

It is why it is referred to as "Atmouse", not Atmos, when Disney does it.

I got ‘em on sale.

Model: Px but they’re a previous model and a few years old.

That's the only one could get them. Otherwise, you'd need to take out a small loan to get a pair. Jeez! Plane Tickets cost less. A day at Disney costs even less. World or Land.

Nothing is cheap these days. I found red ones for about $300 on amazon just now. The blue & gold is just a gorgeous color combo. I get a lot of compliments wearing those bad boys in the Delta Sky Lounge

I have an Atmouse subwoofer for just this purpose.
[Show spoiler]A 3rd 15" sub with a 1500W RMS pro amp. It almost always only gets used on something Di$ney has touched.

If you pre-ordered TGTB&TU from Orbit, they just got their shipment in. Expect your shipping confirmation soon as they begin to fulfill orders.

I tried the Apple ones and they felt cheap compared to mine along with costing more $. B&W are worth checking out and investing in.
