I know there is the Audio sub-forum for music on vinyl and CD, but I could have swore there was a section in there for discussion of concerts released on Blu-ray. Only found out this week (from on here) of a Soho concert recorded with two members of Roxy Music and a special guest of a third member of the group (a mediabook set is being released a week today, based on the database listings).

I had more squirrel activity. I reckon the bastard(s) are eyeing my pumpkin. I was on the deck drinking last night and left my watch on the railing. Heard some noise this morning and chased a squirrel away.
The ass*hole squirrel knocked my watch over. This is what I was greeted to this morning. The watch was on the railing just above where the pumpkin is. The watch really went for a ride but thankfully it survived. ![]() |

OMG!!!! That band. I just can't with that. On a related note, I happy I got great deals at Grimey's/McKay's. But I had to spend a good bit to get them. Which is good. It's all one big revolving door. I guess that's a good descriptor for bipolar disorder. From what little I know about it.

The thing is we have. Biz's response is one sign of that. People have forgotten already. They forgot about it 5 years after it happened. Or something like that. That's the way we work as a society/human beings. When something happens we end up throwing it away somewhere in our minds never to think much about it again. Unless, it's something that hit home for us personally. It's a lot like how my mind works/is wired. I have all this information inside my mind. But a lot of it is all put away in boxes and I don't know where it is now. It makes it harder to access it. Even the things that really pained or crippled me. I still have the pain and the scars. i live with them daily it seems like. But the more time moves on the easier it is to carry around with me. It's like what Dianne Wiest said in Rabbit Hole: Becca: Does it ever go away? Nat: No, I don't think it does. Not for me, it hasn't - has gone on for eleven years. But it changes though. Becca: How? Nat: I don't know... the weight of it, I guess. At some point, it becomes bearable. It turns into something that you can crawl out from under and... carry around like a brick in your pocket. And you... you even forget it, for a while. But then you reach in for whatever reason and - there it is. Oh right, that. Which could be aweful - not all the time. It's kinda... [deep breath] Nat: not that you'd like it exactly, but it's what you've got instead of your son. So, you carry it around. And uh... it doesn't go away. Which is... Becca: Which is what? Nat: Fine, actually. That's about what I feel everyday with my loses. And I think it describes the way most people have dealt with 9/11. At least those that are detached from it. Meaning they had no real steak in it other than that of a nation grieving. Life goes on. People want you to believe that the world is turning on its knees and we are on the brink of collapse. However, in most of our lives, we don't see or deal with those things. It's an exaggerated view, as we are just doing the best we can to deal with our own lives. Life is strange, life is queer It's the only one we got So we better start being there |

Got an update on my Amazon Tron/Tron Legacy pre-order which now has an ETA of Oct 8 - Oct 20. I can wait, but now it's gonna have to intrude on my annual October Halloween month-long movie fest.

However, my order of Tron did ship out this week. Legacy is listed as 10.8-10.22 I have my Movies Unlimited shipment arriving by Monday. I guess it's good to have a backup. I honestly did not expect it to even be processed. |

I wasn't sure whether this thread or Vent your anger was the best one to post this observation in:
Earlier on this month on two separate days, one firework each went off in the local area. Then last weekend, over the course of a few minutes a series of fireworks went off. Straight away I thought "here we go again", as it was just under two months before Bonfire Night (5th November). This is another 'annual tradition' where fireworks are being let off in the local area way too early. Yes, it could be explained that someone was having a private party in their back garden, but what if it wasn't? I don't have pets myself, but when it comes to on or around 5th November each year I think about people in the area who have pets who get scared by fireworks, and then there are those who have a bonfire and an organised firework display (bonfires needing to be checked before they're lit). |
