My parents adopted two cats (sisters) when they are kittens we had no idea till we they got older we noticed it.

Sometimes we just leave the food, and eventuality they'll eat it usually an hour or so later, but still they do give us the stare down every time we eat.

Also a friend told me she used to use a simple trick with her first cats, make sure you have something on your plate that your cat won't eat for sure, like a pickle of a slice of lemon, and when your cat tries to get into your plate, give her that to sniff. After some time the cat associates your plate with yucky staff and doesn't bother with it anymore, but I tried that and it worked for the one kitty, but the other one isn't so easily fooled.

It’s because of the used market. Textbook makers only expect to sell 20% of their overall stock new, so they raise the price to offset the 80% being sold on the used market. If they could garentee a higher turnaround for new books, they would lower the price. That’s why you’ll often see the Kindle version of the book being cheaper, because there is no used market on digital books. The problem is that not every book is offered digitally.

I've gotten around it by buying through Barnes and Noble and not from the College bookstore. This summer, I found a pdf version online and used that.

My college bookstore IS Barnes & Noble oddly but before I go get my books for my classes which start on Wednesday, I'm going to check Amazon, eBay, etc.

Not for NMSU, you can go to campus and look but this is why I rent when I can. No desire to own textbooks after classes end and don't want to deal with selling them to someone else.

Check online and see if you can find an electronic version.

Current book I need for next semester is $150 new. Barnes and Noble is $61.17 used.

Well I have a bunch of little stuff and one textbook that's a lot so we'll see what happens. The cheap books I'll just buy through the school but the expensive one I'll shop around on.

That sucks y2jman, I'm 38 myself and it's hard to believe some people don't make it to this age.

I remember my community college did a "book buyback" at the end of every semester. I always found it to be a scam because I could never return my textbooks for a refund as a "new edition" was released.

I've learned to simply just rent the textbooks used through the college bookstore.

first: stop feeding it human food

my grandmother had a chihuahua and fed it bacon about 90% of the time. and she couldn't understand why it was getting so fat and never had any energy. i told her several times it was because of the bacon and that if a human ate bacon all the time, they'd die of a damn heart attack before they hit 30 years old. she told me i was crazy. the vet told her the same thing. she told the vet he was crazy.

ok, tell me i'm crazy. that's fine. but a professional? who went to school and got a degree for exactly the thing you're asking about? and you don't listen to them and tell them they're crazy? ok, good luck with your sick-all-the-time little dog. poor little thing didn't last very long.

Exactly this. And this is a general rant and not specifically towards the op but if you can't fight off the "puppy stare" while eating then you shouldn't have a dog. You are harming the animal. They will eventually get the hint and eat what's in their bowl.

Really hoping The Mrs for our banking sorted out with her mom. Long story short, bank froze our accounts because of a check she wrote us. Seems they flagged it as unusual and required them to go to the bank to straighten it out. Makes me want to push this whole POA with both of them.

Also wish The Mrs would swing by the house to see where everything is while she’s there. I’m not really wanting to go there tonight and it sounds like that’s what we’re doing once they get back. I get that long trips tire out The MiL, but if we’re ever going to move in she’s gotta suck it up.

Because I just heard from our contractor he’s done and I’m out here at the rental with shitty coverage. So it feels stupid to make more than one trip to meet up, but I’m leaving this up to The Mrs at this point. Especially since we still need to meet the plumbers to see where they’re at too.

if you're too stupid to look up from your phone while you're walking down the sidewalk or are about to step out into traffic, then you deserve whatever happens to you.

also, if you're too stupid to not look at your phone while you're driving, then you deserve whatever happens to you when you've killed someone; when it all could've been avoided had you not been messing with your phone.

Ironically enough, Amazon didn’t start their Student Prime program until the year after I graduated college. So one semester, I had borrow a textbook from a classmate for the first two weeks while I waited for my book to arrive from Amazon.

Of course now I have Prime, but back then I didn’t and that Student Prime would have really helped...
