The "What's on your mind?" thread

Has the month of June been designated LGBTQ pride month or something? Rainbow banners, decals and posters are everywhere. My transit hub decided to decorate part of the interior in rainbow decals. Even film studios are getting in on this by reissuing select titles with rainbow slips! I'm all about being proud of who we are and all that but isn't it a bit much?

yes, it has

which blows my mind. why set aside one month out of every year? why not just be proud of who you are EVERY month. and if you're proud, celebrate it all the time, not just during the designated month. and this goes for black history month (february). during that month i see all this stuff on tv, hear it on the radio, see it online, about black history. but from march to january, there's not much said. now...i'm not black, nor am i lgbt...whatever. but it's just weird to me that they set aside a specific month for stuff like that. let's just celebrate humanity and be done with it.

Same as Mother's/Father's Day. Those two should be celebrated every day.

I guess at first it was a good idea in order to become more aware but honestly just be yourself and live every day, celebrate who you are and enjoy your history all the time and make new history. History is important and should not be just targeted to learning about one particular event or showcase a culture but to celebrate the past even in hopes of learning from it. Not everything in this life is will be easy or keep you happy all the time. Either good or bad be thankful you are alive and you got here from your ancestors who you should be grateful for.

How come if I have poop the size of my forearm it slides out no problem, but if I have the little pellets if feels like I’m trying to push a watermelon through a keyhole?

However, whoever got the seat this time chose not to sit there.

I'm wondering if maybe people who don't have a full grasp of what reserved seating means just take whatever the machine gives them. Does it default to the "best seats" available?

I wonder if attractive women feel "slighted" if some dude she spots on the street she likes ignores her completely as he walks by (or if she walks by him). I wouldn't say I'm gorgeous or anything but I'm not exactly The Elephant Man, either. I've spotted good looking women checking me out on the train but since I know nothing will become of it I simply turn away or go back to doing what I was doing. I'm just curious if she gets upset or feels rejected in some way because I'm not staring back at her.

You’re right that nothing will come of it. Nothing ever will unless you do something about it. Friendly small talk and politeness is a start.

How can I engage the opposite sex in small talk if most of them are in a bubble? We've reached the point where if someone isn't staring into a cell phone, that makes them weird lol.

Wonder how many women were thinking the exact same thing in those situations where the man tells himself nothing will come of this, so why even bother. Sometimes I, like a lot of men, are too rational about these random moments. No telling how many times I've cockblocked myself. Herp derp.
