They took my money yesterday I hope I do get it early just so I can tell people it’s full of DNR and yellow tints galore!

I want my movies and TV to look as close to what they were supposed to look like, that's the ultimate purpose of a display.
The problem is too many blu-rays these days already add a sickly yellowish teal tint to movies that previously didn't have it. And the general lean these days is this ugly yellowish teal tint for many newer films. So having your TV set to warm 2 just magnifies that issue imo. I hate the cool setting but I don't care for the warm 2 setting either.

Good job UHD tends to neutralise most such tints seen on SDR Blu-rays though some 4Ks have skewed warmer for sure, StudioCanal's UHD versions of Leon and Fifth Elephant come to mind.

Turn off any post processing, switch to Movie mode and Warm 2, you'll generally get the most accurate picture settings.

No e-mails yet for me. I think I ordered as a guest on gruv.com, so I can't look up my order. Just have to wait I guess.

Thats why I have my display set to somewhere in the middle. Old TVs you never had to adjust the warmth. Just the color, contrast and brightness knobs. And that was enough.

Speaking of Back To The Future I recommend this book Back To The Future The Ultimate Visual History. It has lots of behind the scenes stories and photographs from the making of all 3 films https://www.amazon.com/Back-Future-U...%2C435&sr=1-10 https://www.amazon.com/Back-Future-R...s%2C435&sr=1-4

It has to do with the kind of film stock the film was shot on not the actual transfer itself. Also BTTF Part 3 was shot at both The Universal Studios back lot and in Monument Valley as well as other locations back when it was filmed in late 1988 / early 1990. Both Part 2 and Part 3 where shot back to back now a days a lot of big franchise movies are shot one after another.
Just wanted to clarify that the kind of color negative stocks Part II & III were filmed on (most likely Eastman 125T 5247 for daylight exteriors and 400T 5295 for stage and night work) wouldn't have made the movie look yellowish or brownish. All Kodak color negative stocks are designed to render colors accurately. That yellowish/sepia tint you're referring to is explained by Bob Gale in the Making Of material as camera filters used by DP Dean Cundey during filming:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/gmU4jbxK3Cg?start=472

Of course, that doesn't mean, however, that the whole film couldn't ALSO have been graded yellow for this 4K release, to push the look even further.

I wonder why the Eric Stoltz footage is not on this newer release of BTTF on 4K and Blu-Ray in the extras? I heard Bob Gale said in The Back In Time Documentary that footage has not been destroyed.

Warm 2 on most sets IS neutral and what movies are graded too

Warm 1 is a bit cool and the rest are cold temp settings that are much bluer than they should be

Guess some of you who got in on the deal really early got lucky or something.

D65 is natural dispersed daylight and is neutral

very warm would be like golden hour right before sunset which is not what D65 is

It's very warm compared to what most people run their colour temp at

Mine got cancelled as well. I ordered somewhat late into the "offer". Not sure if that was a factor or not.

Ordered mine for 10 through Ebay/gruv, and just received a message saying it’s been back ordered, better than cancelled I suppose. Though considering my love for this trilogy I would have no problem paying full price. Having said that, I’ve spent plenty over the years on Universal titles, and wouldn’t shed a tear for them over this deal, they’ll survive I’m sure.

They would probably have to pay him royalties if more of his footage is shown.
