Agreed. I think the author is a member here, if I'm not mistaken. Also there's a reissue on the way with an additional 10 or so pages. Not sure I'll re-purchase for that though.

I got the same email this morning. I wonder how much of a delay we are taking?

I also got the backordered email from Gruv on my ebay order.

Hello,
Thank you for your order of Back to the Future Trilogy on 4K! We are excited to get this item to you as fast as possible, but due to an overwhelming response to the re-release of this title, we are backordered for a brief moment. Our plan is to ship this item to you as soon as we are back in stock so you can enjoy this amazing trilogy.

If you have questions on your order you can reach us at customerservice@gruv.com.

In the meantime, we thank you for your order and your patience.

Glad I only order some films on Ebay and get newer films / older ones with new transfers at Target , Best Buy and at Amazon in The US. I've only had to order from Ebay from time to time year ago had to order a new copy of Avengers: Endgame because the 1st disc I got from Best Buy was scratched up. Though I may get the Jurassic Park 4K UHD Steelbook down the line. Pre Ordered my 4K copy of The BTTF Trilogy online from Target hopefully it will start to ship out on Friday or Saturday.

My Amazon order estimated to arrive next Thursday, but will probably come Wed.

My best buy would arrive on release date, but then i'll probably have to deal with calling for a price match. May just go with Amazon and wait the 2 days.

Regarding the temp settings.

My cousin and I were discussing this very thing, and I was telling him to use the warm setting on his TV. He said the classic line of "It makes everything look yellow", I then went on to tell him that my TV is on the warm setting, and that white looks white on there.

He's watched my TV enough (several times a week when I first got it, as he came over to watch movies with me while going through a separation/divorce) that he knows the whites look white, but he just likes the cooler blue setting, for whatever reason. He knows it's not accurate, but I think he just doesn't care.

I'm of the mindset that since there is as actual, measurable standard that screens should be calibrated to, then (as consumers of said content) we should do our best to meet that standard at home, when viewing this content.

I know that 100% accuracy across the board isn't very easy to achieve (all panel technologies have positives and negatives), but regardless, I still think we should try to get it right. Anything else is at least partial revisionism of the creators intent IMO.

This becomes especially important in films that are either highly stylized (such as 300, Suspiria, Blade Runner, etc) and films that use color to create mood, or for storytelling effect (which is nearly every well crafted film since color film has been a thing).

At this point, I don’t see why it matters when we have THE PERFECT Marty McFly... why would anyone want to watch an inferior performance by someone else.

Does that apply to all televisions though?
Yes, I've switched off the processing options, but Warm 2 looks weird to me.
Maybe I just prefer the cooler look?

Maybe I can take a picture with my phone so you guys can see what I'm looking at...

Is there a particular scene on UHD that would be good for providing an example?
I have PREDATOR on UHD.
Any shots from that worth capturing?

That's not how taking pictures of a TV works.

I changed my HDMI port on my oled yesterday as was having a few hand-shaking issues. This involved then having to change all my HDR settings of course, so it's just right how I like it. Reminded me of all the research I had to do when I first got the set, and how awful it all looks with the out-of-the-box presets.

as for that book - it is AMAZING.
I got it last year, and you get loads of goodies with it. Including THE photo of Marty with his brother and sister, that's lenticular to show the disappearing act. I've actually framed it, so it's amongst photos of my own family

Agreed, at first your brain will be telling you it looks wrong but after a few days it will look normal and anything below it will look wrong.

just watched the first one and it looks like they cleaned it a bit too much as there appears to be no grain.. it almost feels like the original Blu-ray master has been remastered at 4k with HDR sprinkled up on top. There's no film feel to it , which should be there for a movie from 1985. Its a strange one as The image clarity is there but the feel of its still reminiscent of the Blu-ray release in some ways. Look like its been DNR'd which for 4K is unforgivable mistake.

The first one at least had some grain. Parts 2 and 3, wafer thin.

I already own the Blu Ray set and only bought the 4k set because of the low price ($9.99). I may cancel if the first reviews aren’t positive and my set hasn’t shipped.
